NFL Playoffs - Wild Card Round

Post by Pruitt »

Bills haven't won a playoff game since December 30, 1995.

That was in the middle of the first Clinton administration.

I was still single.

And their previous playoff win was during the Eisenhower administration.

I googled, and LT was only forced to register as a “low risk” sex offender so I guess it’s ok and maybe even makes sense(?) for ESPN to use him in a pregame promo for Bills@Texans.

Did you hear JJ Watt is playing? Because if you didn’t ESPN will inform you every chance they get.

That's the Bills.

If he could throw a ten yard pass, he'd be agood QB.

I forgot what this misery feels like.

I'm in awe at this timewasting, it was CONCACAF level good. They were penalized for DELAY OF GAME and still squeezed another minute off after that!

Simple fix is non-offending team gets the clock option, right?

They were the second seed for most of the year with basically nothing on the offensive side of the ball and went up against one of the hotter teams and arguably the best RB in the league and a coach that went to Foxboro U. As I said to my friend it's all been gravy since 2001.

You have no idea what is happening after the season. Personally I believe, that McDaniels is going and Brady is staying and LIons are still gonna suck.

Belichick did that earlier in the year. There will be some rule change in the offseason.

Tirico on the radio broadcast mentioned this. Belichek pulled the same trick in some blowout game earlier this year, to point out to the NFL rules committee the loophole, and then it burned him in the playoffs.

Wasn't it that every penalty and out of bounds used to stop the clock? Then they wanted to speed up the game so only if less than 5 minutes in a half.

It's been done by a number of different coaches during the season, and the only blowout the Patriots were involved in was week 1 & 2. I believe the Pats did it against the Giants.

It's the thing people will pick up on, but the decision not to put anyone back for the punt and the decision to point on the previous possession both had more to do with the loss than something that happened at the 5 minute mark.

Pats did it to the Jets in Week 7 in a 33-0 non-blowout. You may remember the reports of Belichick smirking or smiling during the game.

Kern was very fortunate to get a great bounce on the punt when the Pats had no one back:

The Pats' real problem (and what the takeaway should be) is that they are a pretty lousy offensive team (bad line, poor receivers, trash at tight end, weak-armed older QB who is susceptible to wearing down over the course of a season) put into an advantageous position by a very strong couple of months by their defense.
“All I'm sayin' is, he comes near me, I'll put him in the wall.”
