Re: New Comedy Thread
Holy shit, dude. Your act has matured and taken a huge fucking leap. Your confidence on stage is strong, and you truly have a unique voice and POV. All the comedians I listen to say it takes 5-8 years for most comedians to find there own voice. I felt a bit of Anthony Jeselnik coming through in your approach, but not remotely copying him. Jeselnik is my favorite comedian, so that's a compliment. It's not just the dirty topics and dark humor, but the writing. Jeselnik is the best writer IMO, so again, huge compliment.
So I've heard or read your Whitney joke 50 times, I knew it was coming, and I still fucking laughed out loud at my computer by myself. I got excited knowing it was coming, waiting for the audience reaction, and I fucking LOL'd. The Michael J. Fox Etch-a-Sketch was a good joke, but a little clunky. Need to trim it down by a couple beats, an it's gold. Also got a good laugh at your response to the crowd laughing at job. That was great. Just need to get rid of the one asshole shouting shit out right in front of the camera. He was loving your act, but shut the fuck up already. You did a good job rolling with it, making one or two comments, but largely ignoring him and not letting him trip you up.
Great fucking job, man. You are killing it! Can't wait until you can tell us about being on America's Next Top Model.

Damn, TT. That was a nice, tight 8 minutes! Very well done.
Totally Kafkaesque
Re: New Comedy Thread
Very, very awesome!! You've gotten so much more fluid since the early jokes. It's looking easier and easier for you to be on stage.
Keep going, man. You're gonna be great.

That thread is gold. My funniest friend is also a massive Liverpool fan. He loved it.

I tried Bert. Didn't work for me. Taylor Tomlinson's special isn't bad though.
Segura was a tease. Not out until next week.

Re: New Comedy Thread
Do you like Bert and just not this special, or just nor like Bert? I like him and thought his previous special was great, but totally get why people would find him annoying or unfunny.

I had never heard of him until this current special, so *shrug*The Sybian wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 11:06 amDo you like Bert and just not this special, or just nor like Bert? I like him and thought his previous special was great, but totally get why people would find him annoying or unfunny.

We watched Theo Von the other night and I can't recall a show where I laughed so hard at some bits and didn't laugh at all at others.
RE: Bert. I may have already posted it here, but I have a really hard time listening to white dudes whine about how they can't be offensive anymore. Especially when I dropped $100 on tickets to a sold out show where they're whining about how they can't be offensive by telling the very "offensive" jokes they say they can't tell any more. And the story/joke he used as an example of this was a) hilarious and b) almost anyone who overheard the exchange would've probably said something. That said, "Secret Time" may be one of my favorite stand-up shows of all-time.
