I don't think it was the Us Against Them people who gave Trump the win, though. There were the moderate Rockefeller Republicans who didn't want their taxes to go up and who figured that even though Trump himself was a piece of shit, a Trump Presidency "really couldn't be that bad." Plus folks on the left side who didn't really want a Hillary Presidency and who also figured Trump couldn't be that bad, and folks on the moderate left who figured there was no way Trump was going to win anyway. And even with all that, it took Comey blatantly violating FBI protocol twice, including a week before the election, and even with all *that*, it was basically a tie in the three states that gave Trump his electoral college win.

Now, everyone (except the Us vs Them folks) knows that a Trump Presidency *really is that bad*. So the moderate Republicans are either for Biden or at least won't vote for Trump. The people on the left are also strongly willing to hold their noses and vote for Biden to get Trump out. And because Barr has no credibility, any kind of October Surprise from DOJ or the FBI will not really have much persuasive value.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Yeah, his people are touting his amazing job because the experts predicted 2 million dead Americans, so Trump is phenomenal, and the Liberal Media is unfairly attacking him. Meanwhile, the asshole is threatening to cut funding to schools who insist on formulating a plan to return. I imagine that has to sit wrong with at least some of his hardcore base afraid to send their children back to school.
Agreed, it really hits those of us who have spouses who will be forced to go back into school buildings.

Don’t know what all of your wives do for the school systems, but mine has 19 schools she works with during the year. That’s a LOT of people (staff and students) she has to interact with every month. Blech.

E learning for my son did not go well. Not because of the academics. My wife and I can teach him, but he’s so lonely. He only has his older brother to play with and he misses all of his friends from school. But I don’t want him back in a school building either. Blech.

David Frum not pleased.
I’d love to see Trump prosecuted for Obstruction of Justice for that. Unfortunately though there probably won’t be evidence that he actually promised clemency to Stone before Stone decided to protect Trump.

Just watch him not wear one again and say he wore it only because it’s a hospital. That was the point of wearing the mask there specifically for the first time.

Sad that I actually Googled to see if Woolery was the official COVID Spokesperson. While Fauci isn't fired (yet), the truth is equally sad. Trump reTweeted Chuck Woolery. I love how the fucking PRESIDENT is blaming other politicians for failing to act. You are the FUCKING PRESIDENT! It's YOUR JOB!!!! And the Party of Personal Responsibility buys into his constantly whining about being the victim. So infuriating.

It's crazy how Trump has tanked his election chances. He could have/should have, like any sane President, just gone with the doctors and encourage all Governors to do the same. Nobody would have blamed him for the lock down or for the economy tanking, as he was saving lives. He basically needed to be Andrew Cuomo and he'd be re-elected this fall.

Instead, his ego got in the way and he played politics when there were none to be played.

Not to mention, he trusts the opinions of lunatic conspiracy theorists over scientists and his own CDC, so if he is going to follow "experts," he would follow Alex Jones and Chuck Woolery, not doctors and scientists. Again, Trump never wanted to do the job of President. He wants to say whatever will get him better press in that moment. "The virus will be gone by April" is much easier that actually understanding the issues, weighing options and instituting policies. Call it a Dem hoax, let your adoring cult members praise you for refusing to bend to the power hungry tyrants in the medical community just itching to make people wear masks and they will blame all criticism on the unfair Dems and Liberal Media.

That's the thing with Trump though, he does know stuff. I recall an interview with Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards back in April, when the outbreak was the worst in Louisiana. Edwards visited the Whitehouse and complimented Trump on studying on the issues, knowing all the stats, numbers and all the counties in Louisiana.

But his ego, and the best stock market and the best economy in the world, and owning the libs, and everyone must agree with me, is the priority.

Not to mention, those sound an awful lot like the words Trump would use. NJ Governor Murphy was forced into a hostage tape press conference a few months ago as Trump finally decided to give NJ hospitals some of the Federal stockpile ventilators. In order to get the ventilators, Murphy had to sit next to Trump and say what an amazing job Trump is doing coordinating emergency supplies. Knowing Murphy, who hates Trump as much as anyone, this was required to get the needed supplies. It was also clear that Trump, or someone working for Trump, told Murphy what to say, because it sounded like Trump's language.

People lie for Trump all the time, and he makes people speak highly of him to get things. He flat out says as much. Remember when he threatened to hold out on providing supplies to Michigan and Washington, because their Governors "said not nice things" about Trump? Say nice things, get Federal funding. Doesn't mean any of the compliments are true. I mean, you can't actually believe for a second Trump has any interest or ability to learn stats about counties in Louisiana, do you? Does that sound like anything Trump has said in the past 10 years? He knows nothing, speaks in very vague generalities and catch-phrases, and unless it involves him personally, he doesn't care about anything or anyone.
