If you’re not in a congested area, go for a long walk when you get cabin fever. You don’t have to come in contact with anyone. Burns off stress and calories. Helps clear your head.

Seriously good advice. About to head out with Izzy for 2-3 hours on the golf course.

Drove and went on a long hike with the family yesterday. Lots and lots of people but by the time we got into the woods it thinned out. Never felt at risk. The worst part was the fucking state still collecting five bucks from everyone at the entry. She's good as infected.
I can tell from the past two days that the general public won't manage well. We have a ton of food we don't ever eat but still, you need way way way more food than you think when you're in all day. Our saving grace will be the spring weather and our backyard and screen porch. Also very hard to know if it's allergies which is kicking in hard here or sickness. The girl has had a runny nose for a few days now but otherwise ok. No one coughing yet.
Cases relatively exploding now. Fulton county up to twenty which probably means 200 or more. No word on any hospital problems yet.

Garage. Girl is rearranging bedroom and left various sole impaling sewing equipment on the floor of the guest bedroom I am using as a temporary office.

The new Mark Maron on Netflix is an easy recommend.
I tried to watch Pete Davidson's special. Sure, he isn't for everybody, but this was just plain awful! He stammered through the material as though he was reading it for the first time, and it was mostly unfunny dreck.

It's already a disaster for me. I have plenty I want to do, watch, and read but I'm not able to get myself to do it. The one thing I was succeeding with was running but my group just stopped so I'm hoping to do that alone. I beat a lot of levels on gardenscape

No way I'd watch it because of his performances on SNL - it's like he just shows up and reads the stuff.

We did a test run of online grocery deliveries (Shop & Stop Peapod). Ordered on Wednesday, earliest delivery was today. Curious what the delivery time used to be. Tried to reorder for next week, earliest delivery time is a week from Friday. 12 days... Looks like I'm not going to be able to avoid stopping in to the grocery store for produce and milk and random things.
Checked Fresh Direct, they only book deliveries a week out, and they are fully booked for my area. Going to place an order and try to schedule delivery tomorrow morning and see if that works.

Spent the weekend at my brother-in-law's house on Galveston island. So relaxing. Had we been better prepared, we wouldn't have left. However, probably going back down there Wednesday-Saturday.

Amazon seems to be giving out 2 months of Kindle Unlimted for free (need to explicitly unsubscribe at the end of the term). I'm not sure if applied to all accounts, but it applied to mine.
Girl's soccer academy just posted a "Social Distance Challenge." All girls expected to partake, set up through Google Classroom. They have a list of maybe 50 videos with different moves, a list of dozens of skills and challenges, each assigned point values. They have to keep score on a public scoreboard, and post videos of them doing the skills moves. Since she is a guest player and tryouts postponed, I'm feeling some stress making sure she does this shit, and the girl can be lazy as fuck. Between keeping her on track with school work and now this, I'm stressed at a time when I am way beyond my limits. Fuck this. This is in addition to her trainer's daily Instagram Live workouts. Today's requires a wall, thinking I go to elementary school and let her kick against their wall. I need to get my son on board to video her doing the various moves, keep him busy, too.

So this is going to be interesting when I redeploy. New Mexico isn't fucking around and by extension, neither is Kirtland. They are doing teleworking and 3 hour workdays if you have to come in. The local area is my house or work center. And leave isn't allowed.
Saudi Arabia is currently a Level 2 zone, but we're all sequestered to this camp made from Alaska tents and we're not allowed to go anywhere. We're in our own bubble.
So when I get on a government contracted aircraft and touch down in Baltimore, I should be ok. (I'm deemed "mission essential" and am unaffected by the DoD-wide stop movement.) Then I'll fly out the following day to ABQ. From there I just stay home and don't inprocess. My R&R will probably overlap as 'self quarantining' for the 2 free weeks off I get. From there? Who knows. Guess we'll see.
What's great is I have lots of board games.

Speaking of games. Steam and all the other vendors should really put lots of shit on sale or give a couple weeks of free access to things.
I've been eyeballing the new Football manager to finally go all in on SwampFutbol.
You know what you need? A lyrical sucker punch to the face.
the boys' soccer club is running a FIFA 20 tournament (along withe the usual videos as to what to do by yourself while away from all)
and some of the local dads with kids in other clubs looking to get together for kickarounds (no scrimmages) and drills.. despite that the town has closed all fields....

I'm doing the takeout route until restaurants close. And tipping very well.
Yeah, I tipped way more than I usually would for carryout. Hopefully some of the servers can be converted into delivery drivers as an option to continue getting hours.

Yeah, the demand will be there for a lot of places. It's not ideal, but probably beats being laid off with no income.

I was on a call with some people that normally work at Kirtland today. Almost all are working from home, very few deemed "essential". The head guy there for our program expects after tomorrow you'll need to be on a pre-approved list to get on base. And yeah, mandated 14-day self-quarantine if you come back from any travel.

We got a Switch when it seemed like a shutdown was imminent. Each of us had a trip with friends cancelled so figure its still a net savings or something.

Considering Kirtland AFB has 20k civilians and under 4k miliary, that is to be expected.
(And I'll definitely be on that pre-approved list because I'm the assistant Installation Deployment Officer. I'm one of the cool kids. Half sarcastic there though. I don't get paid more. I just have more responsibility.)

Neighbor works as a sous chef at a steakhouse in The City. He got sent home today with boxes of fresh food fresh off the delivery truck and directions to apply for unemployment.
It was more food than they could use and they insisted we take some fresh veggies, filet() mignon, sea bass and salmon. Wow.
I'm stuck in a 3 hour planning meeting on Zoom, and its sucking my will to live. I want to go out and lick shopping cart handles just to get it over with.
