I just went and bought a case of craft beer. That's about as close to the feeling of peeling off dollar bills at the club as we're going to have for awhile.

You’re thinking it. It’s cool. Yes, Brian stayed up until at least 1:15 drinking. I used to do this all the time. That’s neither bad nor good. Gonna see if I can make it through my notes for my Bottle Rocket book.

When I was a kid and a teenager, I used to listen to shortwave radio. Also loved listening to radio stations late at night when you could pick up the powerful US stations.

So, a former radio nerd.

That's why I went nuts when I found this site - radio.garden - live radio from pretty much anywhere in the world. Just listened to a phone in show from Aberdeen, news from Israel and now reggae from Brixton.

Awesome - this is why the internet was invented.

Played golf today with a buddy. Had our own carts. Nineteen bucks. Played 18 in three hours flat. Shot 90 on a fairly short course (5 par 3 on which I was eight over) and couldn’t putt for shit. Tee game was good except for two holes and I saved par on one and bogeyed other.

And I am sore as shit.

Wife cut my hair yesterday. We had clippers shipped in a couple of weeks ago, but I was scurred. Got to the point I had no choice.

I have to say, I think you'd have to really scrutinize (or be a hair cutter/stylist) to recognize it's not a professional job. I mean, I can tell because I've had my hair cut by the same woman at a barbershop for a decade.

We're chalking it up in the W column.

My wife trimmed my sides today. A narrow win, but I will be going to a barber for a cleanup, as soon as they allow it.

Was gonna grill but rain and wind pissed me off. Just some pan fried chicken breasts (two regular breasts sliced for four reasonable sandwich patties) finished in oven. Local spice season called dan O’s on both sides. Pan seared for a bit then slathered with some sweet baby rays original (the best not spicy bbq sauce out there in my opinion) and finished in the oven. Then place a couple prices of bacon on each pattie and a sharp cheddar slice and let it melt. Take it out and put it on a toasted ciabatta bun with some spicy aioli. Excellent. Easier to make on grill because you don’t need so many pans but they tasted great.

Definitely agree on Sweet Baby Ray's. I'm a big fan. Sandwiches sound amazing. Can't go wrong with some thickish cut bacon with good crinkle/wave with melted cheddar on top. I wonder if a crisp, crunchy leaf of lettuce would have ruined or elevated it?

Lettuce would probably work though the toasted ciabatta and the bacon gave good crunch. Lettuce would have been for freshness and an extra crunch which might be no issue.

Try this one. I usually go ciabatta instead of wheat bread, but the chipotle and apricot are a nice hot sweet mix.

I tried that. Hated it. Figured out a good method for one thin one though. With your standard triangle pointed down, fold the top edge down about 4.5 inches, leaving you a swath of 4 plies with the triangle point sticking out beneath. From the top again, make another fold of about an inch, then tie around your face normally. The first (big) fold should allow 4 plies covering your nose and mouth. The second fold acts as a tab at the top that you can easily grab with your thumb and forefinger to raise and lower as needed. After wearing it once, the folds stay in place even when you take it off. Pretty proud of that one.

Sadly, I'm too much of a long face to handle the PDX fold ... I think its going to be triangle then fold the inside back up then 1 inch fold down to hold for these new ones. Triple ply, not quad ply.

The mail hasn't arrived since Friday. Explanation from the mayor is the post office ordered all employees to stay home if sick. One delivery person has COVID, a second called out sick. Post Office is delivering all packages, and whatever letters they are able to get out. Some neighborhoods got deliveries once this week, most got none. I did get a USPS package delivered to my doorstep by a person driving a Honda Fit. Didn't see if they were in uniform.
