Herman Cain was my mom's favorite Conservative Black Guy Who Says Stuff To Make Me Feel Better About My Casual Racism, so I can't say I'm too sad to see him go. Doubly so because he died directly due to being an ignorant dick about Covid just so he could earn brownie points with Trump.

I honestly don't understand how guys like Cain, Cruz, Ben Carson, etc could be so fucking stupid, but yet were obviously pretty damn smart and accomplished earlier in life. Brain worms? What happened?

All of this, but I still thin Trump has to have shit on these guys. Especially Lindsay Graham. Maybe his buddy who owns the Enquirer has lady bug pics or something far worse.

For guys like Cain, it's that weird thing a tiny sliver of African Americans that get a huge kick out of the (faux) adulation and acceptance they get from The White Folks. It's a weird blindspot that doesn't allow them to step out of themselves and see the context and reality of what they're doing.

It'd be sad if it wasn't so fucking obvious.

It was bound to happen...found out that someone I knew has died from Covid-19.

When my GF and I went to Merida Mexico about 1 1/2 years ago, and big group of us stayed at home with Juan as a caretaker. Super nice guy...changed money for us when we got there late in the evening, and drove us around town and to a restaurant where we could get a late dinner. Also was incredibly helpful with everything about the house.

Found out last night that Juan died on Saturday.

One of my favourites - reggae legend, and a guy whose latest album was just released and is well worth a listen - Toots Hibbert.

Tommy DeVito ...original member of the Four Seasons. 92 is a pretty good run, but headlines say COVID.

some of the articles have been less than kind about the Four Seasons buying him out due to gambling and tax problems. Also not surprised to see Joe Pesci listed as close friend.

It was such a cool spot. I got the cookbook, and its way over my head. I've made the chicken wings a couple of times, and it basically takes all afternoon.

George Jones once painted “KKK” on Pride’s car. It’s best not to always learn about your favorites from the past.

Did he even have a near-death conversion like Christie did? Or was he a reality-denying murderous asshole to the end?
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.
