This is one of those movies where I almost feel like I can figure out the movie Esterhaus thought he was writing in his coked-out brain, but the disparity between the two is so wide that's what makes it bad (good).

So her arc is to be taken seriously as a dancer though she literally aspires to work in a nude revue.

(Note: Especially in the 90s there were plenty of "legit" dancing jobs in Las Vegas, maybe even more than there are now.)

The character arc and goals for Berkley here definitely show the movie was written by a man though (a lazy one at that).
