It was fun but it goes so fast once a hand is over. I never could tell what beat me when I thought I had hands worth playing.

Probably a way to review in software but I had never used before.

While we work to try and get three more from here to commit so we can try a tourney of 12 (and sorry to our PA and NJ crew who can't), if you have PokerStars, I have through twitter ended up following @jwar247 - he's a poker pro who has been organizing and running tournaments on a regular basis - several times or more a week. The buy-ins are mostly reasonable - you send to him via PayPal etc and if you cash, he pays out in about 15 minutes. I played two smaller buy-ins originally - tourney had near 80 once and around 55 the other time - didn't cash. Jumped in on one last night at $100 buy-in - 67 entries - it paid to 12 places - 10-12 got $160. I ended up in final six and we were close enough in stacks and it was 1 am so someone suggested chopping and we did and I pulled in $867. He did indeed pay out immediately - refunded my buy-in and then paid me $767 (less a tip).

So, long way of saying, he seems to be trustworthy, the tournament experience on PokerStars has been good, and if you follow his twitter account you can see what tourneys he's running and when. Some during the day, most at night, you only play if and when you want to.

I got Nord VPN so I could play on poker stars with HS friends across the country. $12 per month, just have to not be an idiot and set up the VPN before downloading the poker stars app.

How much of a buy in are you guys talking for this? I set up a poker stars last weekend, but I don't know if I have to add money to that account to get the points for buy ins.

I think $4 on PokerStars gets you like 1.2 million in "play chips".

A poker tournament on a home game has been "costing" $20,000 in "play chips". So one $4 buy should cover you for years' worth of home games. I never play the more public stuff on there and spend "play chips" - don't see the point.

Once we have enough for a small tournament - 12 is the line I would like so we can have two six-person tables at a minimum, we can decide real money buy-in amongst ourselves. $20 per person, say, would yield a $240 pool - could pay to 3 places - $140/$65/$35, say, for instance. Someone can volunteer to take the money and hold it via paypal/venmo whatevs, and payout when done - preferred method.

Or we could do tourneys for fun - but a little skin on a tourney adds a little something.

This is the play. Also you can reload your chips every 4 or 8 hours so if you just login and click the button, you can mass up a couple tournaments worth of chips without paying real money.

Well, this looks like it would be a not very often thing - so perhaps you could make room for a special game if we can get enough into the Club and pick a damn date.

Not sure if you guys have been kicking around any upcoming days but I could play if the game were tomorrow night or Saturday night, after 8 PM Eastern time.

We haven’t taken the next census - I really want to get to 12 in the room - we are still at 9.

Got it. Don't mean to be flaky but my availability is based entirely on my wife's work schedule. She's working night shifts in the hospital this month which means that I'm free (and typically desperate for any entertainment) on the nights she's working but owe her quality time on her days off. What's the thinking on 12 as the number -- 2 tables of 6 to start?

Yes. Makes it fair with regard to pressure from blinds etc and just a more fun game generally.

If we can get 12 (Or more) to the “club” we can then try and find a date and time that will work for everyone.
