Always remember, rubbing is, in fact, racing.

I've always snickered at the fact that they call it "rubbing" other cars, not crashing into them.

You clearly don’t understand rubbing!

This is another movie I haven't seen in at least two decades and am looking forward to seeing it in a weird way. If nothing else, I'll just email my brother about peak Nicole Kidman.

Also, speaking of another movie we watched I don't know the veracity of this, but Don Winslow doesn't seem like a guy to make this shit up. I had no idea about this though:

This week's feature was selected in honor of Memorial Day weekend, as it is a big weekend for racing as the Indianapolis 500 would normally be on Sunday and the Coca-Cola 600 is being held that evening.

The movie starts with just the Paramount and Simpson/Bruckheimer logos, so we'll start before the Paramount one at 9:10pm Eastern.

The pause point will be the end of the meal that Michael Rooker and Tom Cruise attend at around the 53-minute mark. The end of that scene is Rooker smiles, then Cruise smiles while eating a celery stick. The scene after (when we will come back) starts with Cruise on the phone while wearing a denim jacket.

Tanya's been busting my balls about Days Of Thunder being on the DVR for the last two months, so that's another reason I'm glad this is happening. I'm tired of answering "So why is Days of Thunder saved on the DVR again?" for the 10th time.

Looking forward to some slick, high-gloss Tony Scott filmmaking (Top Gun and True Romance are also on his resume).

There's an argument to be made we could have done Talledega Nights here, but why do the parody when you can have the real thing?

Took less than a minute for the first Confederate flag sighting, so we're good.

Good thing we didn't do a drinking game where you have to drink for every Confederate flag in the movie.

Can I get a time check? Missed the beginning and Comcast was being a little bitch about Flash being allowed and loading the movie.

I get the cars are obviously very highly tuned, but isn't the point of "stock car" racing that the cars are "stock" and like not built from scratch?
