Didn't you study journalism somewhere? Must have been one helluva program.
I was referencing that Gawker said they saw it. Since they had it first, like you said.

But as Cerrano said, Swamp Deja Vu.

But as Cerrano said, Swamp Deja Vu.
That's just plain ridiculous.

Pointing out that you were wrong about Toronto Star "reporters" having seen the video, pointing out that you were wrong about the dollar value, pointing out that you don't know anything about the history of that rag versus Ford, pointing out that citing Gawker as a source is absurd, yeah . . . that's all "deja vu", right?

Silly.

Do you mind pointing me in the direction of the $1 million reference? Would love to read it if I'm so uneducated. And if you go back and read, I never disputed your point about the Star vs. Ford, or said anything to the contrary of your slams against Gawker. My point was that Gawker got it first and yet, yours, and Ford's, outrage was originally against the Star.

Did you break your Google?

Two seconds of locating a reference later, from the Toronto Star itself no less: http://www.thestar.com/news/city_hall/2 ... andal.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

At another point he said they had originally wanted $1 million, but he had convinced them to lower the price . . .

It is widely reported, that million dollar figure. Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... video.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks. I was looking for another source other than the Star, given your comments against their credibility upthread. Looks like the Telegraph is just using the "are reported" caveat. (Meaning that they are taking it from another outlet, likely the Star's original story with the figure.)

That's how this story is being reported in just about every news outlet that will touch it. Nobody, and I mean nobody, will come out and give it any credence. So what they are doing is printing "The Toronto Star is saying this . . . " which is also a cowardly way of reporting news, notably less so than the Star, but still yellow. I suppose that keeps them from being liable for libel. News outlets, particularly Canadian, have mostly settled for the "Ford Denies Allegations As Ridiculous" slant in order to report what the Toronto Star is claiming. But, make no mistake, everyone is making damned sure that any mention they make of it emphatically stresses it is all on the Toronto Star.

The Star has been busted lying about Ford so many times nobody can maintain a running count. So when they cry "Wolf!" for the millionth time, it is unsurprising that nobody of any merit is listening.

Also, do not be the least bit surprised if this turns out that a couple of the cretins at the Star were the ones who leaked that story to Gawker and then just "happened" to get behind it themselves. Some sort of deniability, I suppose, to sucker some gossip rag into appear to be doing the dirty work.

I recently learned that my alma mater, Colorado State won the club national titles for both the men's and women's lacrosse. It was the third straight title for the women. I know it's only club level, but still, something to be proud of.

Naw, I think it's worthy of comment. It'll be funny to watch sports guys decide whether to get irate or go with the "he was joking, everything's cool" reaction. Of course, golf folks would much rather go with the latter and ignore the elephant in the room that Tiger's career has NOT spawned a new generation of young, minority golfers. The PGA Tour and the clubs they mostly play at are still almost completely lilly white (and yellow).

And Sergio - what a dick. I used to like him, but I guess he's the same spoiled, rich, white Country Club guy as so many of the rest of them. And he certainly assumed that he was surrounded by a room of like-minded golfers.
Totally Kafkaesque

I am not sure I anger Tiger. Seems like it would just focus him more
Sergio is a dummy
Where is the PGA in all of this

Also I remember Tiger getting in some minor trouble for some sort of racial humor back when he was first coming onto the scene in an esquire article.

What he said. Plus it isn't available everywhere in America. I've asked my local beverage depot in Tucson to special order it and they can't. But for some awesome reason it's available in Korea.

No to the last part. I realize I sound like all of you queers when you post about how awful the songs I like are because they're not deep and edgy and whatnot, and that to each their own, but I just don't think it's that great.

Tom Qualters was a bonus baby who appeared in 34 ML games without recording a decision. He is the only player to have appeared in four Topps sets without recording a win or a loss.

COOL!

Reading about the bonus rule, it seems like it was a very entertaining thing.

I have an idea for an invention. (if it doesn't already exist like they seem to years prior only I don't know about it and I look foolish.)

Instead of having to get a power strip and manually connect cell phone chargers to it (be they for Android devices or iPhones), why not combine it all into one thing?

Have one plug that looks like an octopus and strings off into 6 or 8 connectors. Sell them as all Android, All iPhone, or a mix of both. That could be a thing, right?

They are available. Apple originally did not allow this with the new iphone connection but changed their view after push back from consumers.

I was kinda looking at something more like this: Octopus Cable Charges 10 Devices for Just 10 Dollars. (Gizmodo link) But it would be your American standard 2 or 3 prong wall outlet connector with 5 Android and 5 iPhone charging cables.

And as you can see, that link is from August of 2009 and it's cheap as dirt. So yea. I look foolish.

A Sloppy Joe is just ground beef and tomato sauce in a roll. No deli meats. No coleslaw. No sauerkraut.

That there is basically a Primanti Bros without the fries.

It's crappy beer. It's more on par with Iron City or the other beers that people have soft spots for due to it only being available in a particular place. I have a soft sof for Genny Cream, even though I know it's crap.

Yeungling is marginally better than the Buds of the world but slightly less than Sam Adams or the other meh "craft" beers.
