My brother's best friend's cousin's friend once went to get that surgery done and when he woke up they had accidentally removed his entire penis and now he has to go pee out of his butt because he doesn't have a penis anymore.

I've had my vasectomy consultation and just have to make the appointment. I'm delaying it for no other reason than that's what I do with everything. The doctor said it will take all of 20 minutes.

My cable system has nine high-def channels for MLB of which I was completely unawares. Not located adjacent to the longer-existing two high-def MLB channels (380s instead of 440s). And the season is ten games in. Somehow I feel I should've been informed. Or maybe they were there last season, and I forgot. Or I've been unawares for years. I'm old, and confused by all this technology.

The local cable provider does that, too, and it drives me bananas. And it's never announced. Some days the NHL CenterIce, NBA, NFL, MLB channels are there, some days they aren't. It can go on for weeks at a time. The NBA channels were on for about three months solid, without interruption, this season. And there's nothing on the TV provider's site about what's there and what ain't. One just has to periodically check. F'r'instance, the entire Reds/Cardinals series was available in HD this week on a channel called "Event-09". Who the hell thinks to check "Event-09"? Even flipping through the guide, the only description for "Event-09" is "Event".

That Jackie Robinson was court-martialed, for an altercation that started when he refused to go to the back of the bus.

http://www.theroot.com/views/was-jackie ... -martialed" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I can't decide whether to make my kids go see the Jackie Robinson movie when it comes out.

On the one hand, I want them to see it and learn.

On the other hand, taking the kids would be such a typical guilty-white-Subaru-and-hybrid-driving-liberal move, I don't know if I could live with myself.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

It never occurred to me that the word Hermitage (like the art museum in St. Petersburg, or Andrew Jackson's home) was derived from hermit. A dwelling of seclusion, where a hermit dwells.

If you want to teach your kids about Jackie Robinson, then teach them about Jackie Robinson. Why the fuck would you let Hollywood do it for you? You'll just get a bullshit version of history.

I've already had my son read a couple of books about him, from the time he could first read. But my kids are 13 and 10. They are going to learn more from a movie than they are either from me telling them stories or me making them read books. And while I have no doubt that a Hollywood version of the story is going to be in accurate and overblown in some respects, it's still going to get the basic point across, in a way that they won't get from plodding through a book.

Last night I had to do a google search which read, verbatim:

And to add insult to injury?

As Confucius say, it is better to bleed from fellatio than never to have received fellatio at all.

Yes. I love my ipod, and if they want to force me to use their interface to manage it's content, and their store to buy content, fine. But if I do buy (or download via a nifty Starbucks code) something, make it easy for me to get it to the ipod. If there is a interface that shows me both the ipod and the library and allows a drag /drop copy option, it's good and buried in the new version. I didn't have time to google a solution this morning, and when I thought I was syncing just my videos, I ended up syncing the entire ipod, which removed all of the music but for a couple of playlists I created for running last fall (directly on the ipod) during the post-hurricane blackout. Stupid.

Why, why, why can't all MP3 devices be just plug-and-play, drag-and-drop without any special interface or software at all? (Unless there's 3rd party one you want to use.)

I used my 2GB Samsung YP-U3 until the 3mm jack rendered the left ear bud of any headset worthless. It was a perfect little device. Hell, I didn't even need a USB connector for it because it was the USB connection itself. See. Look.

Just make them all like that. But no. Force me to use garbage software with whatever I have to buy to replace it.

There is an option to "de-authorize" all devices and start fresh. I had to use it when we got new computers at work. But then enter the password one time to re-authorize.

I loved the early versions of Itunes, but it is becoming less essential to me since i got an iphone, which is somewhat ironic.

There's no option to go back and have it un-delete the entire music collection that it just wiped out.

I had to get an undelete program, recover the files, and rename thousands of MP3s.

For some reason, I just heard that sad, Michael Jackson-She's Out of My Life-sounding Bruno Mars tune, on Saturday. I've listened to it about 80 times since then.
