Gonna miss hockey for the next few months, but I'm happy to go into the pause with the Cup. Wish I was there, but this wouldn't have been at home anyway.

Bolts should get a replica inflatable Cup because of the extenuating circumstances of the bubble, the paused/shortened-season, and the oddball playoff structure.

Such a great team of guys that are super easy to root for. Gonna be nuts to see how quickly major changes have to be made. Kinda glad I'm not in town, as I'd be pretty tempted to get out and celebrate.

Everyone knows the old hockey adage: win 62 games one year, win the Cup the next.

Congrats Chedd.

Thanks, all. This has been a ton of fun. I'd love to see a photo of the four guys that were all up for the Conn Smythe from last night. It really had to have been hard to choose between 77, 21, 86, and 88. So happy to see how happy 91 is too. What a run of crazy, major injuries for him.

Helps explain even more the excitement the team had when he scored. Also, from this series of exclusive interviews from Erik Erlendsson (fmr Tampa Bay Times Bolts beat writer who was laid off a few years back) is that Steven knew he'd torn his groin muscle completely free when trying to avoid the hit from Lindell just before the shot that became the goal.

When has signing an aging Sharks forward ever failed for Toronto?

Thornton can still contribute a lot on the power play. Really going to be sad to see him in something other than a Sharks’ sweater. But I don’t begrudge his going for a Cup near his hometown.

And, revisionist history aside, Marleau was decent for the Leafs, especially in his first season there. The problem was that they overpaid him and had to get out from under that contract.

Yeah, it's $700K and 1 year, so there's almost literally no amount of production that would make it a bad signing unless he starts firing the puck into the wrong net or something.

Going for a cup in Toronto? That's funny.

Its probably the weed talking, but getting melancholy thinking about Thornton moving on from the Sharks to the Leafs. I met him once, on a plane, and he was a really cool dude. Pretty much one of my two favorite athletes, ever.

If he hasn’t fallen out of the top 2 for being a MAGA turd I’d guess Elway.

I'm guessing it's the iconic Broncos quarterback who led them to comeback after comeback, and was also a talented enough athlete to play minor league baseball -- so much so that an iconic New York team pursued him.
