Hmm I've always enjoyed Hab fans way better than Oiler, Leaf and Canuck fans.

Maybe for me it's because Habs fans were very cordial when we won our Cup there.
Just looked up that playoffs on wikipedia, and realized that was the same playoffs where Ron Hextall beat the snot out of Chris Chelios after he took out Brian Propp (or Dave Poulin? One of those P-guys). And Chris Chelios was a 5 year vet THEN.

It's been fascinating to see what opposing fans visiting Vegas are like vs. what opposing fans in Detroit were like, especially considering Detroit was a dynasty when I was going to games there and Vegas was supposed to be a laughingstock at first and then of course turned out not to be.

Some of it is due to randomness of course, especially since East teams only play in Vegas once a year and I haven't been to every single game played here meaning I've only seen some fanbases once or twice.

I have opinions, but not interested in stirring up any shit. I'll only say that basically only three or four fanbases in the West are really truly horrible and roughly half in the East are.

I've been cursed at and had popcorn thrown at me at a Flyers game but I was cheering for Leetch (on the Maple Leafs) so it wasn't completely unjustified.

As far as the West goes, I think the Canuck fans are known to be pretty obnoxious. Even amongst themselves.

Can't imagine Caps fans being a pain... Just a weird combo of being a very good team for a long time, but monumental collapses that truly humbled most in the fan base. Even now, Caps fans I know are "They can pretty much do whatever and I'm still going to be happy."

Winning that cup didn't make anyone I know cocky... just fucking relieved. And most are eyes wide open that they great players are rapidly approaching the end of the productive portions of their career. Gonna suck to lose Holtby, but certain moves just have to be made.

i was spit on at msg during the 97 conference finals. probably had it coming considering i was wearing a flyers jersey and at one point signaled my approval of a flyers goal. my brother and i had seats in different rows in the same section. the 6'4" rags fan sitting next to me said he had my back if i got fucked with because he respected me for wearing my jersey in the blue seats. thank god the game was 3-2. if it was a blowout he might have been the first to squash my fuckin head. i lived, but a little piece of me died that night.

edit: it was a propp jersey, l-jam! FUCK CHRIS CHELIOS!

i'm gonna be the apologist, but of the 4 goals, only 1 is on hart. first 2 were breakdowns from the d in front of the net, he got screened by 304 people on one of the others. he doesn't have a long history of playoff hockey, so i'm not gonna say there's nothing to be concerned about, but since this isn't in front of the crowd, hart is going to be able to regroup pretty quickly and i think they flyers are going to be alright.

Isles have defenders holding Ovi's jock whenever he is on the ice. Saw it on 5 v 5 and the Caps PP goal. Basically said we will play 4-3 and just take the Ovi and his office out of the factor. I am sure Todd R is a good coach but there was a reason he worked for Trotz and not vice-versa.

Stars-Flames game is intense. Pavelski should have scored 4 by now. There have been 26 shots in the 2nd, with 8 minutes left.

Heh. I have no idea how often it happens in baseball, but in the 2015 NLCS, not only did the Cubs never hold a lead, but they were only tied in about 3 or 4 innings out of 36. I don't know if anyone has ever done worse in a 4-game series. (Even the 1927 Pirates did better.)

The Blue Jackets (especially with Korpisalo playing like he is) are hard to play against, but I think the Bolts have enough talent to pull this series out.

Cooper's done some odd things with the lines today. On more than one occasion a fourth liner has been out with a first liner, and I can't tell if he's matching lines for faceoffs, switching lines for defensive matchups (we're the "away" team today), or what. Every time I've noticed it, it seems to have fixed itself already, almost like he's giving some players half shifts. He also had the 2nd PP line take the lion's share of the most recent PP (that 2nd PP line has 2 D).

The result is certainly going to dictate how all this is viewed. It'll either be Coop as genius, or Coop trying to be too cute.
