Those are game changing at bats by Diaz and Wendle, it doesn’t even matter what happens here.

Cole was on 54 pitches when Diaz stepped to the plate. He’s on 79 now. Bad error and good at bats.

Really hope Britton is first, otherwise you’re starting all right and ending all left.

“He’s destroyed left handed pitchers but Chapman is no regular lefty”.

Homer. That’s a fun call.

Given the backstory, that's gotta be one of the all-time great at bats.

I don't see how anyone can like Chapman as a person. Like everyone else, I've rooted for bad people before who played on teams I like, but seeing Brosseau take him deep was a great karmic moment for me just wanting to see drama.

I haven't paid enough attention (hardly any really) to MLB this year like I usually do, but definitely did not know this:
That Tampa Bay pen is so damn deep. And so damn good. The Rays are 33-0 this season when leading after seven innings. They have won 73 straight games when leading in the eighth or later. Rays relievers have inherited 16 runners this postseason. None have scored.
Good lord.

Also, that's from Craig Calcaterra's newsletter - which I follow (subscribe to) as much for his politics and family musings as for his baseball musings.

[INSERT JOKE ABOUT SERIES NOT STARTING UNTIL ROAD TEAM WINS A GAME]

This is the Rays' day. Three-run jack after an error, a ground-rule double costing the Astros a run, and followed by Margot making an amazing catch on a foul ball.

Wonder what kind of odds I can get on Atlanta in-game. They usually don't even offer ML bets when the games get this out of hand.

Same here. Actually tennis is the best for this. Players come back from two sets down often in grand slams.

Dusty seems like one of the better people in the game and I love Greinke, but they're getting a ton of credit for being "right" when Azorarena was called out on a legit check and strike 2 to Brosseau was a ball and strike 3 was fishing. It worked, but it didn't work because it was right.
