Samurai Cop (1991)
Director/Writer/Co-Producer: Amir Shervan
Starring: Matt Hannon, Mark Frazer, cult B-movie icon Robert Z'Dar
Running Time: 96 minutes
Budget: Unknown
Box Office: N/A (Direct-to-Video)
Are there boobs?: Yes!
Streaming availability: tubitv (free and uniterrupted as far as I can tell), checking on others
Other availability: Amazon ($2.99 or free with Prime)
Start Time: 9 p.m. (movie starts at 9:10 p.m.)
Pause around 45 minutes in, following the scene where the hero chases down and arrests a guy in a parking lot. Next scene is a cop saying "How do we know that this is the right house?"
Fun facts about this movie:
- Amir Shervan was a prolific director in his native Iran before moving to the U.S. after the '79 revolution.
- Many of the shots were filmed in one take, and it shows.
- A number of shots were filmed in the director's office and then intercut with previously filmed scenes. This also shows.
- Despite not speaking English as his first language, director/writer Shervan insisted all actors deliver their lines exactly as written, resulting in dialogue such as "son of a bitches."
- The lead actor cut his hair shortly after filming wrapped, only to be called back later for re-shoots. Consequently, there are a number of scenes in which he is wearing a woman's wig.
- A fan-funded sequel was released in 2015 with several of the original actors, plus Tommy Wiseau in a supporting role.

It's on YouTube for free (with a rather poor dub into what may be Russian).

Here's the link to the tubitv stream (brian, you can add this to the first post). Legit, free, uncut and with no interruptions:
https://tubitv.com/movies/324874/samurai_cop
Watched it a few months ago here and it worked fine with no interruptions. Maybe test it for a min to see if it works for you.

Just as heads up, it looks kind of ambiguous on whether the tubitv stream mentioned above is uninterrupted. I watched it several months back with no ads, but when I tested again a few days ago there was at least one add. Not sure of registering/logging in to the site makes a difference.
You can test for yourself, but going through
Amazon video may be a safer bet.

I hope it falls into the good-bad category for everyone. I'm someone who, 90% of the time I'm told something is "so bad it's good", just finds it plain bad, but seeing this for the first time a few months ago was one of the most bizarrely entertaining experiences I've had. I rarely laugh out loud, but this had me doing that as much as some of my favorite comedies.

Alright, you son of a bitches. Let's do this.
Final reminder that it's probably your best bet to spring for the
Amazon video rental to make sure you have an uninterrupted viewing.
We'll start at 9:10. Playing straight from the beginning of the stream should work.

Had to rope my wife in to do this. This could go very well or very poorly.

This movie has a "December 8, 1941" level of anti-Japanese sentiment, btw.

The early part is "slow" in terms of not too much to make fun of yet, but it gets "better."

They've almost established a plot so it's semi-coherent now.
