City getting four because the fullbacks and Alisson were complete shit isn’t what I was expecting.

Bigger humiliation for Liverpool: the score line or Salah’s efforts to draw that penalty?

Their other away kits are a heinous yellow/green combo.

Amazing what happens when Spurs play aggressively against a shit team. This win makes me hate Mourinho even more.

If the table more or less holds, what's the argument against Dias as player of the year?

Tottenham’s problems aren’t Mourinho’s fault. Jose said so

I think Daniel Levy is the only one who couldn't see this coming.
We are well into the first trimester of the inward blame season for those with an attuned Mourinho dial. Its warm breeze drifted in last week with talk of "we coaches are as good or as bad as our players make us", and the weekend's chat of world-beating practises was a noticeable temperature rise. We can't be too far away from medals-on-the-table patter and the sweltering days of moles and bad eggs in the dressing room.

The Athletic had a story about Tottenham today, which was fine in its own right. But there were two comments made by readers that I found more enlightening than the article.
James G wrote:Amongst all the factors raised, for me the biggest issue Jose has had in his most recent jobs is that he doesn’t seem to improve players. I just don’t think that’s good enough in the current management world.

Look at the best coaches around - Pep, Klopp, Flick, Nagelsmann etc. You can pinpoint 10-11 players they and their coaching team have improved in their respective squads. Brendan Rodgers is another good example - he arrived with the likes of Barnes, Maddison there - look how much they’ve developed as players.

Now look to this spurs side - you could argue Ndombele (but I’m more convinced that Jose actually wanted to bin him and Levy blocked it). But who has improved under him? Where is the evidence of coaching and progression?

It’s not enough in the modern game to just buy who you want and put them out on the pitch with some tactics. Pep changed the game, inspired a generation of coaches, and it left Mourinho behind
Guy S. wrote:How he's still the manager it's utterly beyond me! Even when you look at the positive results they too speak loud and clear.

These are our 10 league WINS this season:
Southampton were in 10th
Man U were in 14th
Burnley were in 18th
Brighton were in 16th
WBA were 18th
Man City were 10th
Woolwich were in 14th
Leeds were in 10th
Shef Utd were in 20th
WBA were in 19th

As for the Europa League, I the best possible thing to happen would actually not qualify for it at all. I think a team soon to be in such a transition (firing Jose, have an interim, then hiring a new Manager in the summer, implement a new philosophy) that playing in the EL will remove the opportunity for a new coach to have the time on the training ground required to accelerate those ideas.
I don't know if the wins thing is accurate, but if so, then Spurs are in a more dire situation than it looks on the surface. (Sorry, Pruitt.)

The only Spurs player who has improved at all is Serge Aurier who's gone from being complete shit to a serviceable right back. But he's barely played since Mourinho subbed him at half-time against Liverpool. Supposedly he got into a shouting match with the coaches and left the stadium.

The other right back - Doherty - also seems marginalized.

Players like Alli, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Sissoko, Mouro, Winks and Bergwijn have gotten demonstrably worse while "the special one" insists on running the Dire Eric Dier and the far below average Eric Lamela out instead of Alderweireld (3 years ago the best centre back in England) and Gareth Bale.

It's truly one of the worst coaching jobs imaginable. And I agree with the fan you quoted, the Europa league is a joke. Mourinho said that he thinks Spurs can qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa league. Only 8 more games to go!!

Seriously though, they've struggled at times and have advanced in the Europa League against the Bulgarian champs, the 2nd best team in Belgium (who they split with) and the 3rd and 5th best teams in Austria. Teams that are pretty much West Brom level.

The damage he has done is clear. God forbid Son and Kane get fed up.

“My dad played for city so I always dreamed of waiting until they were the clear best team in Manchester then joining United.”

I’m really enjoying playing without a target man (Pep likely read my post here and embraced the idea) but I’d make the large exception for Haaland.

This is when I wish I knew other leagues better so I’d know which strikers are more Jesus than Aguero so who we should go for. All the movement up front is so much fun, although it makes certain guys seem to fit a lot less.

And Stevie G clinches the SPL for Rangers today...

I think it would be insane for Liverpool to cut ties with Klopp. He may be ready to go, or tired, but firing him seems nuts.

Started about 5 minutes late and as soon as I saw Bruno had already scored I checked to see who conceded the penalty to a United forward.

Firing him would be nuts, given the injuries they've had all season, but Liverpool has completely lost the plot. They have way too much talent to be so hapless going forward.

Yeah, I was really pissed before the game, even more pissed after. I don't know how much longer I can refuse to pay for all of these new pay platforms. If I can convince my wife to drop cable, I could justify it, but I'm boycotting in hopes that the concept doesn't win out, and they stop making us buy every channel individually.
