No GWG for Brodeur. Jeff Skinner with a slapper that beat Brodeur glove side.

That has to be one of the longest own-goals ever, right?
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Which game?

I've seen a few "full length of the ice" own goals. And I believe every time it was in the final minute, goaltender pulled for an extra skater, down in the offensive zone a pass goes back to the point, missed by the point man, and then the long agonizing puck glide into an open net.

It's going to be real fun facing a well rested Pittsburgh squad, including the return of Malkin (bonus!), tonight. Nothing builds the confidence needed to take on the #1 seed like being outscored 10-1 in the third period of your last three games.

The fun thing about being an Islander fan is that I have no idea who will show up tonight. We're as likely to win 6-1 as we are to lose 7-0, that's just how we roll against the Penguins.

It's kind of cheesy they credit that to Brodeur. Should simply be an own goal on Staal.

This forum has the coolest feature too...Kranepools post came in while I was writing my post about the Isles-Pens. When I clicked "submit", the forum showed me Kranepools post and asked if I wanted to make any changes based on the new post. I thought that was pretty sweet.

I'm just glad the Pens broke the curse of the Lemieux statue.

Hope your teams loses tonight in a manner that is not too disruptive of your enjoyment of an evening out with your kid.

The Islanders have the Pens' number, that's for damn sure. It's been a little better this year.

Sources say the Pens and Stars have a trade in place for Brendan Morrow. However, he has yet to waive no trade clause.

I believe Joe Morrow would go to Dallas as part of the deal for Brendan Morrow.

You never know, Pens still have cap room.

I've always thought Iginla is going to Boston or Philly. Philly seems out of position now.

2 years ago the Flames could have traded Iginla to Philly to Simmonds and B. Schenn. Should have pulled the trigger then but they were stubborn that the team was still playoff material. Flames finished 9th or 10th in the conference the last 3 years. A teasing position nobody wants to be in.

Iggy only approved a trade to four teams and Philly wasn't one of them: Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings.

Pittsburgh would be mildly insane to make a trade while riding an 11-game winning streak. I'd still like to see him in a Pens uniform but not at the cost of giving up, say, Despres and two consecutive 1st-round draft picks. Does Chicago really need anyone? Not particularly. Maybe the thus far underachieving Kings do, however.

Although bear in mind that this is pretty much how the Kings won a Stanley Cup; putting just enough into a regular season to get enough Bettman points necessary for the playoffs. The Kings are 17-12-2, five games over .500. Look at it this way: Last year the Kings had a .579 winning percentage. This season the Kings have a .581 winning percentage.

What I'm wondering is . . . do any of those four teams really need him?

Philly isn't on the list because they have fallen on hard times and are fighting to get into the playoffs. Iggy wants as much of a guaranteed of a cup run as possible.

A Pronger led Philly team was more attractive a few years ago.

Same reason LA wouldn't have been on his list a few years ago but now they're coached by Darryl Sutter and they're the champs.

That was awesome. That game had the looks of a 4-3 game, but the goaltenders were playing great.

How much would Iginla reasonably command? Despres and two 1s seem like quite a bit. In understand that the NHL draft is more like MLB's than the NFL's, but still. I wouldn't want to see this team giving up a defenseman for more offense.

I really liked him, and wish it would've worked out for him. That being said, I don't question the move. This team is in a tailspin.

I thought it was a clear boarding call that the refs just missed.

And the Flyers suck. At this point I am kinda hoping they don't make the playoffs so we can draft one of the top defenseman in this year's crop (though a part of me knows Holmgren will just use it on another effing forward).

What's the word on Douglas Murray, SC? The Pens needs someone to clear the crease.

He is trade bait.
The good: Tough, physical, shot-blocker, crease-clearer, will stand up for teammates, strong as an ox. Hard checker, good fighter, good on PK. Rumored to have dated Elin Woods.
The bad: Poor stick handler, and you can probably skate faster than him.

This is an insult to those of us who descend from Vikings! My ancestors occupied their time by pillaging and generally going beserk with axes in the time-tested effort of slaughtering anything in their path. Henrik Sedin's ancestors sat around the kitchen making Kroppkakor.

Have you guys seen the Bad Lip Reading songs? I knew about BLR, but not these songs. They are incredible. Here's what I think might be my favorite:

Step one was the only step I needed. I figured after reading the beginning of the thread last night that two much syntax was my problem.

And note 2: It was late and I didn't even realize this wasn't a random videos thread when I saw the NHL 94 video.
