I think it will be Saturday. Azinger made a good point about the difference in available sunlight in September. If everyone was struggling to break 80, it would be tough to get through the round. That plus the lack of wind probably explains things.

Then again, there were rumors that the membership was pissed today. You don’t want old money New Yorkers to feel aggrieved. When you do you get [gestures at everything]

That makes a lot of sense.

90% of a chance I hit a better chip than Tiger on 18.

Course looks much tougher today. Predicting the cut line to be +5

Brutal out there. Thomas Pieters had the lead at the turn -6. Then he shot 41 on the back.

Watched Bubba Watson have to get out of the way of his own shot earlier so that's fun golf.

And he had one of the best rounds so far!

Just had a commercial in the local block for a stud horse. No shit. It was for the horse and only mentioned the farm late. Never seen that before.

Do they do it in the style of those late night 1-900 ads from the 90’s?

Ha. No but the production value wasn’t excellent.

Yeah I have been in the exact same locations relatively speaking on my local courses.

In three shots.

Yeah I'll take my chances sitting 2 in the rough if it's 80 yards from the pin

I like that they don't make most of the tour courses ridiculously hard... So that when you see them struggle on the weekend like we just saw, you know the course is near impossible.

I think my favourite was just the disdain you could hear from the announcers about how Bryson was playing. Especially Azinger, you could here in his voice how he doesn’t like the way these guys play the game. On Saturday Wolff shot 65 hitting 4/14 fairways.

Azinger said the win was "validation on steroids," which is both hilarious and remarkably petty.

Yup and then he withdrew. Threw $50,000 away.

It’s funny. I’m overly analytical of my own game so keyed my stats from all summer into excel last week. Found that there is a much stronger correlation for me between drive length and GIR than drive accuracy and the same. Basically I hit a pw/9 closer more consistently from the rough than I do 7 iron+ from the fairway. Can’t say I’m surprised by that.

Wonder what his caddy thinks about that
