Man crush seems too modern a term to apply to myself as a kid in the 80s, but his portrayal of Bond was definitely a very early holy shit that guy is cool and I wanna be him moment (even more than Luke or Han because James Bond seemed more real).

And he’s still cool as hell in The Rock 30 years later.

I’ve definitely seen more minutes of Darrell Hammond as Sean Connery than of Sean Connery as Sean Connery.

Lots of 80s movies now seem like relics and don’t hold up well. The Untouchables most certainly does hold up, with Sean Connery’s role a big part of that.

Iconic actor...but his attitude towards domestic violence was not enlightened.
An open-handed slap is justified – if all other alternatives fail and there has been plenty of warning. If a woman is a bitch, or hysterical, or bloody-minded continually, then I'd do it.

In a way it’s fascinating what was allowed then vs now.

That Barbara Wawa interview he did back in 1987 would’ve unequivocally ended his career if it was held today.

It’s not that unlike the hilarious rape scenes from Sixteen Candles and Revenge of the Nerds.

Yup
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

The Halloween theme for the night at the winery I'm at: James Bond. (I'm not dressed up, btw.)

This was determined prior to Connery dying. So that's a thing.
