I think we may need it.

For my swamp buddies, because this is one of the few places that have kept me relatively sane.

I went back and browsed 2016 just enough to verify that we kept one thread for the entire election and through T-Day, and was about to start this thread myself but then steve posted "Let's do this." in the existing thread at just about the same time I got an email from a clothing store my wife likes titled "Let's Do This" which gave me pause and then he followed up with a more substantial gesture of support for the cause than just starting a new thread so I stopped and made my coffee.

Let's do this.

And just so it’s all in one place, a couple links to help folks find volunteer opportunities.

https://votesaveamerica.com/volunteer/

https://mobilize.us/s/uiZ3rT/r

That second link is for NC GOTV specifically.

My Amazon music just started playing Dream On by Eminem and also All I Do Is Win by DJ Khaled.

Gunna take those as good omens.

Let's hope Florida, NC, and Georgia pull through tonight so we can laugh early.

My wife is taking our self-imposed media blackout at 6pm a step further and actually staying off Facebook entirely today because she doesn't want to hear everyone's "I voted" and stories of making a mountain out of a molehill while voting. I should have put two and two together last night when she said she was going to handle our son's school today after doing it yesterday (we normally split the duties of the three days he's at home).

Ah, the "I voted" story. Almost as insufferable as the "Recipe" story or the "YOU need to be the change..." fitness story.

I'm going to doomscroll Twitter and dump updates into this thread today.

You're still having online classes on election day? Canceled here.

Still in school here. Except our middle schooler's first period teacher had no Zoom because she was volunteering at the polls.

I'm a big fan of the "wow, I visited Las Vegas in 2004 and stayed at a hotel only a mile and a half away really makes you think" stories after major tragedies.

Look at all those and it is pretty clear that those of us wanting a Biden win are starting from a better statistical place as the day unfolds.

Hopefully the votes are there today to bring it home. I think PA will be better for Biden earlier than people are guessing, by the way.

It's interesting that Nevada never gets included in these swing state comps. I think Nevada is going to be a lot closer than people think. I think Biden wins, but only by about 2-3 percent or so. Wouldn't surprise me if Biden wins MI/WI by close to 8-10 points, but barely carries NV.

I really think there are only three possible outcomes at this point:

1. Biden wins the EC today
2. Biden wins the EC after all mail-ins are counted
3. The votes are never properly counted

Only one of those makes me feel at all at ease.

I don't think anyone wants to consider the Dems losing a state from 2016.

Yeah? Because Ralston hasn't been pointing to that. Last I saw based on early voting numbers was 4-5 point win per him? Maybe I mis-read. If Nevada is close, that would be a bad sign in my opinion.

Yeah, I posted that in the other thread when he made the prediction. Just going based on some gut feel. Even Ralston at 4 percent means the real odds of Biden winning are somewhere in the -500/-600 range (which is good odds! but hardly a sure thing).

Early voting cuts both ways and really helps make it easier for the rural counties to vote in NV. I'm not being contrary to Ralston really. If he's saying 4 and I'm saying 2-3 percent that's basically the same thing. I'm just saying I think it's closer than he's projecting here based on my reading of the electorate.

The middle school went full online today because it is a polling place. Did not affect things for my daughter, as her in-school days are Thursday and Friday.

We sold the TV I have in my office last week and it's probably for the best. No need to even consider watching election coverage on TV until about 4 p.m. local time.

My prediction is that Biden wins with 310 EC votes. In the somewhat unlikely event he wins Florida, the suspense will be over quickly. OTOH, a tight race in Pennsylvania means that it’ll be a nerve-wracking night.

Voter turnout don't look great thus far for Biden in Arizona especially in Maricopa County.

Milwaukee looks like they are going to surpass their 2016 turnout soon.. Which is great for Joe.

But IMHO, He needs one of PA, Florida, Ohio, Arizona.
