Do his heroics in 1988 make everyone think Dodgers as opposed to his longer and more successful time in Detroit?

Reds or Orioles?
Orioles.

Which is bizarre now that I look at his page on B-R. I would have sworn that I remember him playing on the Orioles. Along with his brother Brooks. But I don't think it's possible that I would have known about him when I was 6. So I guess my memory is based on reading about the 1969-1971 Orioles team as a kid.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

wlu_lax6 wrote: Mon Nov 09, 2020 11:48 am So the MIckey Tettleton reference in the COVID thread got me thinking...are there players on you always think of being on "Your team" even though most people would never primarily associate them with your team.

For me this really does tie to when I actually paid close attention to the Orioles (mid/late 80s).

- Mickey Tettleton
- Fred Lynn
- Ray Knight
- Steve Finley
- Jose Mesa ---which will always be Joe Table
- Alan Wiggins
- Phil Bradley
I’ll just add on to this one
Reggie Jackson
Sammy Sosa
Albert Belle
Vlad Guerrero
Glenn Davis - worst trade ever
Fernando Valenzuela
Rick Sutcliffe

Ok so I may have misread the question. Allow me to try again.

Yankees because without landing in a favorable spot like the Bronx I highly doubt he would've had the support to reach Cooperstown.

Damn Angelos was a terrible owner. I mean, he's just old and out of the way now, right?

His sons are running the team from what I’ve heard. But I have no clue. He was a garbage owner who hired horrible incompetent people to run his teams.

Astros (baseball cards and that was the team he was on when I was 5, which is probably the rule for players from the 60s through early 80s.) Hence, Pete Rose is a Phillies great.

I know we don't have any Kings fans here but Gretzky? Or is he more a King than an Oiler. Mr. D...no Messier as a Ranger?

Mussina is an Oriole to me.

Pele as a Cosmo is clear for most of us 'Mericans..not that any of us can really call the Cosmos our team.

Gretzky is an Oiler. From my relatively small scale experience while I was out there, Luc Robitaille was the 1990's LA Kings' guy. Just beloved when he returned for the second time around.

He got harassed more by Steinbrenner than Ray Kroc.

Oh, and Steinbrenner harassed him so much that the league threw him out of the game for a few years so that the Yankees could fix the constantly gutted system due to Steinbrenner's ill-advised trades (see my earlier, mis-informed post).

He's a Blue Jay cuz that's where he got his ring.

Or he's a Padre cuz he's one of the guys I'd hope to see during that 1970s thirty-minute window into other baseball teams highlights, otherwise known as "This Week In Baseball"

How about that.
