Yeah. The timing certainly suggests he was involved in something hinky. If so, it will come out, but that will take time.

Until then, I'll remember the whole Vince Foster episode.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

The inauguration always pulls in a massive military crowd.

Andrews AFB (and maybe Bolling this year too) is the base people get deployed to months in advance to plan and prep for any and all contingencies.

Maybe these additional National Guard members will help facilitate security and control. We'll see.

But I'm curious as to what this means going forward. I was having a discussion with a friend of mine recently. She's a photojournalist for USA Today and she's whip smart. The radicalization of the extremist right wing in this country is similar to that of ISIS. And as military members we have to "support and defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic."

Well, the foreign part is easy because we tribally see each other as others. But with the mainstream coming out party of what we're seeing now, we have to view some of our own as terrorists (or terroristic) as well. In my mind I have no problem putting down the enemy whoever they may be, but my friend said that I'm susceptible to the same propagandist think if it's that easy for me to decide. I'm not sure how to reckon with that.

And still, as of this moment, we haven't had guidance from the highest levels of leadership within the military to give us direction and understanding. To me, that speaks volumes. (The only response of anything so far that I've seen personally was a dude in our staff meeting telling us to watch what we say on social media. Cool!)

Anyway, I still feel like if there's an enemy to put down I'll do so. The money trail that enables this type of behavior exists and these Vanilla ISIS Peggy Sues and Jethros are being manipulated, but just don't see it. But if they want to bring guns? Ok. I can bring them too.

This is for all the lawyers on the board. And the non-lawyers. I mean, its 36 seconds, just listen to this. JUST LISTEN TO IT. As one reply put it - you usually don't want your defense attorney on TV sounding like he is reading the jury instructions for the crime the client is accused of committing while...saying...yeah, he did it...

That's some of it - I am waiting for confirmation of how some of the rioters had maps of the tunnels that connect offices and the nooks and crannies of the capitol building. It's not publically available.

Congratulations on somehow not reading anything here or anywhere else on the vast repercussions if he's convicted in the Senate even after his term ends.

The most important (to Trump) might be the end of his post-presidential Secret Service detail. The most hated man in America will have to pay for his own security and that isn't gonna be cheap for a broke-ass bitch.

Except impeachment has many consequences beyond being removed from office. It would prevent him from holding any other Federal office, he loses Secret Service protection, he loses his lifetime pension, he loses the authority given to former Presidents, he doesn't get invites to all dignitary events former Presidents go to, most important to him, he gets the ego hit of being disgraced.

Yeah, and he totally gets off on strutting around his golf clubs with the fanfare of a Secret Service detail. I know I posted, but we went to Bedminster when they hosted the LPGA US Open. He made an entire show of being led in with a procession of SS officers and vehicles, walking to the front of his giant glass cube in the sky waiving to all his admirers...

I really wracked my brain to think of a way that guy didn't completely bone the case. I guess he isn't going with a defense of mistaken identity. Why speak to the press at all?

I mean... maybe he’s going to plead guilty and throw himself on the mercy of the court? I haven’t done a lot of criminal defense work, but even when the strategy is pleading guilty, you don’t come right out and say it to the press, right?
