May I ask what took you so long to join the GOP?
Left the GOP

Was thinking of doing it at the beginning of the year. The handling of Covid, but last Wednesday was the final straw for me.
He was being facetious, Nate. (At least, that's what AB told me.)

Does this mean what it literally says, that they've stopped giving contributions to everybody?

If they can prove it, this is prison, not just expulsion, correct?
It really depends on what the assistance is.

Criminal cases are very hard to prove when the defendant did not directly engage in violence or other illegal activity, but is being charged with soliciting or aiding and abetting the crime. This stuff taking place in the Capitol helps in that respect, since even a mere presence in the Capitol by an unauthorized person is a crime. But "violent entry and disorderly conduct" in the Capitol Building is just a misdemeanor with a six-month maximum term unless it involves firearms or explosives.

Here is a general summary of the types of charges that may be available to prosecutors. https://www.lawfareblog.com/heres-how-c ... iminal-law

Would you expect Rob Manfred to take an actual stand?

Idea for punishment: make all other politicians do push-ups while Trump has to eat a jelly donut.

Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't there more Dem politicians inside the Capitol than GOP politicians? Both sides.

Stepping back, big picture, I guess even me, who generally sees the worst possible outcome, is surprised that between the start of this thread and Biden getting inaugurated that Trump managed to get himself rightfully impeached again.

That is just, that's quite a feat.

Half of the presidential impeachments in 232 years of US history!

Last time I'll post what could sound like keyboard warrior bullshit, but to summarize:

* - There is an explicit no weapon carrying rule in DC. It is extremely rare to get any kind of concealed carry permit, and open carry is straight up asking to get shot on a normal day in the city.

* - These folks (rioters) are generally thought to have had a hand in at least one officer dying, and multiple others getting their asses handed to them. IOW, there is strong precedence for LEO and the NG to fuck someone up and ask for "forgiveness" later.

* - As pointed out by Rep. Moulton on the floor today, there are now more NG troops in the nation's capital than there are in Afghanistan.

So, I'll just say for the last time, if these idiots think they're going to come anywhere close to what the accomplished on 1.6, they are going to quickly realize how very wrong they are. They can threaten all they want, they are going to get fucked up.

As Drugs said earlier, I, too hope there isn't a lot of collateral damage and that the folks trying to keep the peace aren't injured. But these wannabe "revolutionaries" have poked an extremely well-armed and at this point already good and pissed off bear.

As stated in the article, they've been canceled since March. Pile that onto the growing list of shit that was sideways last week. And I just posted on Fb to say: There's no way Cap Police weren't aware of this. Tourons stand out like crazy up there, even when tours are allowed.

He's been completely off his rocker for well over a decade. Like, INSANE, not just "crazy uncle" who might drink a little too much. Like, he's off his meds and dangerous version.
