Wiseman gets the opening night start. Marv doesn’t recognize him. I guess for Marv it’s impressive enough that he’s made it through COVID so far.

Durant looks great. The Thompson injury sucks because Golden State brought in some good players

I'm gonna Ja Morant up this thread again this year.

Yeah, the Grizzlies lost the opener. Not Morant's fault - 44 points 9 assists and 2 boards. 18 of 27 from the field.

Oh, and he did this:

He couldn't handle getting the wide open easy shot the first time?

That call for Giannis at the end of the game would have killed Tommy Heinsohn if he happened to fake his own death a few weeks ago.

Yeah, I'm just taking on the old white guy back to fundamental troll job. Morant is so fun to watch.

I also didn't think Jordan needed to switch hands against the Lakers.

I had it in my head that play was against the knocks. I was wrong.

God knows he landed with the right team a year ago. His start of year two last night looked like the tool box was starting to get really well organized.

Morant left the game tonight with a really bad left ankle sprain :(

Jon Ossoff has bought ad space in literally every commercial break on the NBA app tonight. Maybe they can upgrade the service now.

The H-Town blue is glorious and it’s not surprising at all the Texans never tried it.

Forget the makes. Just shooting em would be enough. Still, no one is scared about anything til about March this year. If they're both still walking then maybe.

I know it’s early and I know it’s a Knicks PG draft pick but Quickley looks legit.

I'd have never thought at this point I'd put money on Deshaun being traded before Harden.

This Kyrie stuff goes from concerning to really, really funny if you've ever driven by "Club 466".

We were there once, when we lived in WO, at least two or three incarnations ago for that space. It was more "nice restaurant" than a night club. I won a contest on WDHA (105.5, The ROCK of New Jersey) for some sort of holiday celebration, took my wife, had some sort of steak in a peppercorn sauce for dinner, and won a Bob Dylan CD. I think The Nerds played.

ETA: pretty sure it was 2003 because even vaguer than what produced the above info is a memory that KSU was in the Big 12 championship game that night and that's the only year they ever made it (and fits in the window of time when we lived there)

"In this case, Brooklyn decided to push all its chips in, knowing that this move would help its chances to retain Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving after next season, when the two stars can opt out and become unrestricted free agents. Harden can also opt out of his contract after the 2021-22 campaign."

Just dropping this into this internet NBA Horcrux of a thread but...

Ja Morant much better than Zion Williamson. Grizzlies lucky as hell they did not draft first last year.

Cool story about new assistant coach for Memphis.

She Thought the Grizzlies Wanted Hiring Advice. They Wanted Her.
The women’s basketball team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology knew something was up when Sonia Raman, the coach with the most wins in the program’s history, organized a video meeting on short notice in September. Most of the players figured it had to do with the coming season, and with complications stemming from the coronavirus pandemic.

They were completely unprepared for the news Raman delivered — that she was joining the Grizzlies as an assistant coach.

“At first we were like, ‘Grizzlies? What college is that?’” Kylie Gallagher, a senior forward, recalled.
