Tatum brown walker smart can win a title if danny finds a center and backup wing. Thompson isn't the answer so far and theis a backup. Hayward would have helped a ton.

Jokic’s stat line this season is the stuff of Bill Walton’s most beautiful dark twisted fantasies. (Which, by the way: Can we make that a podcast?) He’s averaging 25.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 8.9 assists, and 1.8 steals in 35.5 minutes per game—all career highs, and numbers only Fully Unleashed Post-KD Russell Westbrook has ever reached. He’s shot 50 percent or higher in 15 of his 18 appearances and dished 10 or more assists in nine of them.
And then there's his full court passes

The only NBA game I’ve seen in years was last February, Nuggets vs Jazz. It was crazy how much of a schlub he looks and how deft his touch is.

The Nuggets are hosting the Jazz this afternoon. Actually looking forward to watching.

Jokic is 4 points away from his career high of 47.

There's half a minute left in the third quarter.

The Golden State Warriors wearing Oakland jerseys and playing on an Oakland court in their megaplex of an arena in San Francisco seems like a real 'Fuck you' to their fans in Oakland.

SF is basically just a suburb of Oakland anyway.

They need a special jersey that says "Suburb" now. That would make it better.

Hoping the best for Christian Wood's ankle, but that looked nasty. Real shame too because this Rockets team is insanely fun to watch. I certainly appreciated the historic player that Harden is, but this is my kind of basketball.

Oh, for sure. Your new coach is doing an incredible job from what should have been, by all rights, a train wreck. Has to be enjoyable as hell to root for them.

I know the Mavs have had other injury/COVID issues, but I do think a big part of their struggles this year is him leaving. I wasn't a huge fan of the hire because I had a feeling that meant Harden was gone, but holy crap he's been outstanding. You'd think this is his 10th year with the way he's handled everything.

Giff, how does Boogie Cousins look this season, physically? More interested in what it looks like for his future, he's almost certainly not going to get to 100% this season. I haven't seen much of the Rockets this season, but his stat line looks like he's still able to use his size to effectively rebound and he's shifting more to an outside skills big.

He still looks pretty tentative out there and some of his moves I"m just waiting on him to tumble and re-injure, but overall I think he's playing well. Plus, it's always fun watching the inconsistency of refs and their dishing out of technical fouls. Eric Gordon flails his arms after every non-call with no T while Boogie looks at the sky after a call and gets T'd up.

Easier with no fans in the stands. People might not even realize it after the fans go back. If not for the fact that you get used to the schedule of stuff that happens before games when you go to most of them I'd never realize if they never did it before a VGK game until maybe a few minutes in.

Do the big fanfare with the teams coming on the ice and instead of doing the anthem, the teams skate around for a minute and then the puck drops. Wouldn't even miss it.

Outside the Olympics where you are playing for your country I never got why the anthem was played before games. I know Cubs started it during WW1 and it was used as a recruiting tool, and it also got steam after 9/11 but right now what does it symbolize?

Hopefully fly overs are next.

I'm trying to think of how many times I would have heard the national anthem in my entire life outside of a sporting event. Waking up way too early in 1986 and seeing the television day begin?

They used to play it in school (but not in high school as I recall)- other than that, 99.9% of the time I'd hear anthems was at a game.

I wish America would just stop.

And as a dude in the military, we all know when to avoid being outside because it plays at the end "of the duty day." That's typically on the hour at 1700 or 1800. So every Monday to Friday.

Imagine: you're outside, holding something heavy, and either getting to your car or into a building. The song starts playing and you have to stop everything you're doing, put your shit on the ground, and turn to face the flag (or the music if there is no flag) and salute for the entire duration of the song. Now add weather!

If you're driving, you need to stop immediately. If you're driving on an Army installation, you need to stop immediately, and get out of your car and salute the flag or the music.

And yes, sometimes it takes a moment and you go "Why did everyone stop? Is there an ambulance?" and then your realize music is playing and you can't hear it. But that's YOUR fault because YOU should know better and be more aware.

And trust me, you will get verbally accosted because you failed to adhere to customs and courtesies. Hell, my wife, before we met, told me some lieutenant got in her face. And she's non-military. She had no idea that was a thing you do. I told her to take his name and call his commander if that ever happened again.

I got off on a rant. Fuck, I can't wait to retire.
