NFL Week 16

Post by Gunpowder »

Revamped my calcs to weight recent games more heavily. Want to eventually break it into three weighted sections but I don't have all year I've got a life to live YOLO MF-ERS

Anyway this leaves a lot of settings to be dialed in, which probably won't ever happen but here's my best guesses for this week:

EDIT: revised scores due to calculation error. The error was responsible for a lot of the hatred of some teams and favor for others.

No matter what I do I cannot make it hate Pittsburgh or like Indianapolis. I tried putting 100% of the weighting on just last week, ie the Steelers dicking around against Elite Athlete Ryan Finley, and it still had them winning big. Makes no damn sense but whatever.

Might want to give the Lions a bump since it looks like the players might be calling the plays since the entire coaching staff is out because of COVID contact tracing.

For many teams their projections were dependent on where they were on the list of games. Too many $'s floating around these cells.

If you want a lock take the Steelers against Indy. Indy is due to play down to an opponent that's on a slide and needs to turn it around. Happens every year.

Curse my realism.

Barely escape Houston twice. Indy can't close. They're better than other teams and coach them right back into what should be a blowout every week. Up 2 scores, go cover 2 deep and give up short shit all day. It's infuriating.

I wonder if the NFL is going to suspend Dwayne Haskins for his unmasked good time at the strip club.

The team fined him $40k. (Perhaps to convince the league that no further discipline is necessary?)

If both Haskins and Alex Smith are unavailable to start at QB this weekend ...

I believe I saw the league is doing nothing and Washington has worked out something where Haskins is still able to attend practice, but I wasn't paying that much attention to the tweet.

He was at his girlfriend's birthday party in a hotel room with strippers. I'm not sure his mask -compliance is the most compelling question here...

Yeah I’ve had friends who had wives that went to strip clubs. Mostly early on in relationships but I can think of three people who did it in my circle many moons ago.

In the ESPN league I've been in for 15 years, I think the highest I've ever seen was 53 or so points.

Went through the hoops to turn on the SF/AZ game while playing a board game with the kids and after watching most of the first half forgot where/how I was watching and couldn’t figure out why there were so many Amazon prime commercials at halftime.

Only reason I’m watching this game is because there’s no Georgia Senate commercials.

maybe I watch too many sports on TV (true) and maybe I'm a nerd (also true) bit it's still obvious to me via feed quality when a game is being streamed vs. when it's being shown on cable or satellite

Yeah, Amazon’s live feeds leave a lot to be desired. Alternatively, YouTubeTV is as good as live, except it’s like 20 seconds behind.

20 seconds behind is good. You can follow the game online, and if there is a bad play, you have enough time to turn the TV off.
