Most of these guys have been playing contact football since 7 to 9 years old. It's obviously possible it's any number of other psychological issues or just even random violence, but I don't think it's impossible that long-term brain injury is to "blame".

I'm sure it plays a part. But his brain just didn't randomly make him walk over to his neighbors house and kill 5 people. I feel like something had to have sparked it.

Fuck that. You don't get justification on 5 murders cause your brain hurts. Piece of shit.

Wait this isn't the same nfl guy that did two murders the other day? Wtf?

Ok. You win. You're not justifying just giving a rationale. Mine is that the guy is a piece of shit. Coulda killed himself first.

Or, you know, get some therapy and not kill anyone. That could've helped too.

Acting like it was a conscious and rational decision doesn't make any sense and doesn't take away from hating the event.

Former NFL Player Phillip Adams Had Medication Taken Away, Possibly Suffering From CTE Prior to Killing 5 People
In an interview with Alex Giles of WBTV News, U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman explained that Lesslie had treated Adams and stopped prescribing him an undisclosed medication.

“Did you say that he was treating Adams?” Giles asks. “Or that it was your understanding that he had been treating Adams?”

“My understanding, he was treating him and stopped giving him medicine,” Norman says, citing local law enforcement officials. “And that’s what triggered the killings, from what I understand.”

--snip--

Adams’ father, Alonzo Adams, spoke to WCNC and offered his condolences to the surviving members of the Lesslie family.

“All I can say is we pray for the family,” he said. “[Robert Lesslie] used to be my doctor a long time ago. I know they were good folks down there. We’re gonna keep them in our prayers.”

Alonzo also expressed his suspicions that his son, who was diagnosed with at least two concussions and other notable injuries throughout the course of his six-year NFL career, could’ve been suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy—more commonly known as CTE.

I've been told that we're not allowed to feel sorry for anyone suffering from a neurological disorder caused by repeated trauma to the brain because of sports, so he should have just been "tough enough" to deal with it.

Yeah. Too insensitive but leads to a really hard question of that to do with the mentally ill. An ill client had some 3am obsession with non-existent money and said some shit to me a while back. Almost bought a gun for his ass. Might need to consider again. Difficult question.

Figured it wouldn't take long for someone desperate for media attention and/or a Belichick bootlicker to advocate Edelman's HoF case, but not sure I expected it to be Pat McAfee.

Amongst anyone who normally isn’t an idiot? (Seriously asking. I’ve not seen anyone who is usually a serious person argue that Edelman should get into the Hall of Fame without paying the $40 admission like you or I.)

I guess if the JSHOF has a much more lenient view towards PEDs, then Edelman and Ryan Braun can enter the same year.

It was just randoms discussing with randoms whether or not Edelman was good enough. There were two sides. A "yes" side and a "no" side. I didn't take names, but the topic came up immediately.

It only makes sense it went mainstream. It'll probably be on a take show too.

A guy who has zero reason to be in the HoF due to not having a HoF career should not be discussed about possibly going to the HoF. Sports media is just awful.

Given the Bengals just have one player in the HoF still (Munoz) and have receivers Isaac Curtis and Chad Johnson on the outside looking in (both of whom are infinitely more qualified for Canton than Edelman), yes, this conversation is oh so much bullshit.

I had to make a quick trip to the store recently and decided instead of hooking up my music, I'd just listen. Reminded me in about 4 minutes that my decision to stop listening to sports radio after the 2005 Texans draft was one of the best decisions of my life.

Yeah, I also view my elimination of sports talk radio as a great improvement in my life. Music instead of self-important ranting and angry bad takes.
