I thought about this as I drove my groceries home and the last time we travelled for not-food was Hawaii on our honeymoon (2007). It was a piece of the trip, but the main driver was going somewhere we'd never been and would likely never go otherwise. Next year was Memphis which might be the highest food percentage of any since there was no real beer scene there.

Well I did it and the surf (sauteed shrimp with garlic butter) and turf (roast beef) with jalapeno mayo was well worth the drive.

I took the interstate to Lake Charles, then backroads back after checking out one of the casinos a little north of there. Also Smokey and the Bandited 42 Yuenglings across the border.
