To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years

Post by tennbengal » Wed Jan 20, 2021 10:24 am

Just. We know he isn't going away. Or the "movement". Or whatever. Trying to find a space for this to be separated from actual government chatter.

This felt big on election night, but Anne Applebaum saying this confirms that...

By the way, de-platforming that fuck made a huge difference in terms of lowering the risk of continued violence. Bet Twitter and Facebook don’t take a lesson from that.

Trump landing at PBI in West Palm Beach sure sounded like a turd hitting the bowl.

Biden set to take oath sure as hell seems like flushing the toilet.

Every time I read "Trump's final act as President" and he is done pardoning, I can't help the gnawing feeling that he isn't done yet. 12:01 can't come soon enough. And someone scheduled a mandatory work training at 12:00 on inauguration day. Come on! [Gob Bluth voice]

it's especially satisfying since he's probably never been forcibly removed from any position his entire life.

I’m a little late sad Twitter deprived us of reading Trump’s bitter angry responses to the inauguration. I bet he would have commented on Biden’s tiny crowd.

When do we find out about the pardon for Ivanka?
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

General q's: Were any of his pardons preemptive? Also, could preemptive pardons be argued to be an admission of guilt in state courts?

I think so? Someone somewhere on some medium today noted that Bannon accepting the pardon meant he also was accepting guilt. Might work as an admission...

No reason to keep talking about pardons, guys. Nosiree. Time to move on. I mean, it's not like anyone here sat in a room yesterday for six hours with a guy who received a presidential pardon later that night. Amirite? Nothing to see.

I think they have to explicitly state what they are taking away if convicted. If I were to bet, I'd say if he were convicted he would probably only end up barred from running for office again and they'll let him keep his security and pension.

There were tweets going around saying that ... but then I saw Daniel Dale saying that one of those tweets was misinformation, though it wasn't clear what part of the tweet he was referring to.

Ha.

Since there are news stories about it...the manager at the operations I traveled to on Monday/Tuesday received a pardon from Trump Tuesday night. Apparently lied to federal mine investigators a long long time ago before he worked for us. Served his probation and paid a fine but I suppose it was a felony so he had applied for a pardon.

I bet he was really proud about his mine's safety levels but lied and said they weren't all that safe just to be modest.

Weirdly, Twitter and other places deplatforming djt was the best thing for both us and him. Him not being able to spew bile for the last several weeks has really cooled the temp on things.

Sadly, he will likely explode any day now when he gets a mic and camera in front of him, but it’s been nice while it lasted.

just the sheer number of people saying stupid things in an attempt to get his attention has gone down significantly and that's resulted in a dramatic effect.

Good for them. Would love to see them sue everyone involved in this lie -- Trump, the MyPillow guy, Hawley and Cruz (if they said anything about Dominion though they might have been smart enough to not directly implicate them). Fuck em all.
