How you gunna do the FG shit on 4th down, but slyly save a timeout coming out of the 2 minute warning?

If that jersey grab wasn't so damn blatant I would've called that a huge bailout.

If you get the TD and if you get the 2 point convert, you still give Brady 2 minutes to get a game winning FG. Whereas kicking the FG is automatic. Then stop Brady with your 4 or even 5 timeouts and have a chance to win the game.

If the game is tied you won't use your timeouts on defense allowing Brady to get last possession.

That's the only reason I can think of.

classic overthink. Why would you take the ball out of Aaron Rodgers' hands to potentially tie the game. Bonkers.

They made way too big a deal out of that replay on second and goal. I don't think the Bills would have minded six extra yards of field for KC to defend on third and goal. I don't think a run play was really an option (and they ended up not calling one, anyway).

ETA: Buffalo should have went for it on 4th down. That FG made a two possession game a two possession game where KC gets the ball to start the third quarter.

I don't get this argument when it's so early in the game and there is a lot more scoring expected. Just take the sure points rather than chasing points (similar to why I didn't think gb should go for 2 today)

So that field goal by kc proves the math. If you go for the td and get it now you’re down 8. If you don’t you’re down 15 which is still two scores.

Eta: of course now two scores puts you ahead where it wouldn’t otherwise. I dunno. Do I look like an nfl coach?

Actuall, I kinda do bear Andy Reid resemblance.

This is odd. Even average go for it/kick decisions routinely swing the win probability by 2-3%.

By comparison, this bot calculated that the decision to kick at the end of the half was worth 3%. I don’t get it. You would think that 4th down decisions matter more and more as you get closer to the end of the game.

The problem with settling for the FG is you haven't reduced the number of times you need to score. You're going to have a finite number of possessions left and, out of that finite number, an even more limited number of opportunities that close to the goal line, so you need to maximize them.

Oh, and anecdotally, KC probably isn't going to do a whole lot of settling for FGs for all their expected scoring.

The first time, I thought you were talking about Frank Clark.

Then I realized this was multiple choice.

I dunno. When I tuned in for the last few minutes, I basically saw the Bills getting in some pretty cheap shots, but as you alluded to, perhaps that was in retaliation. Obviously not a good look for a team that was denied a chance to eradicate its demons from the past.

Not sour grapes, but there was some real cheapness from the Chiefs.

As big losses go, this was easier to take than a last minute defeat. Bills are a stud defensive lineman and an average running back away from greatness.

The field go there is about a 90% certainty I'm guessing; what is the chance of getting the TD, especially after they didn't show much success for the first three tries? Kicking 1 fg instead of risking it for a TD and going for the XP instead of going for 2 is 4 points if you don't succeed in either risk, the difference between being down a touchdown or a field goal. Leaving easy points on the field early in the game seems to burn teams.
