Guess you can tell the new soccer stadium is ready to go in Cincinnati:

Hopefully the league stops being complete dicks to MLSPA and we actually have a season.

I really want to be an MLS fan, but damn, they make it hard for me to care. This CBA nonsense isn't helping, and Don Garber will always be a piece of shit in my eyes. What he did with Anthony Precourt to try moving the Crew to Austin was deplorable.

DC United GK had a pretty interesting take on people signing with the MLS right now.

Also guess his kids are in the same school system as mine...interesting to see his view on virtual learning and teachers pushing back on in person but getting vaccinated.

The deadline was extended through today so that's promising I guess.

Yup. NYCFC still not having a home and being tape delayed on TV for 1/3 of their games just kills it for me. If the league doesn't care about me watching its super hard for me to keep up.

I'd take take delayed. Even the Rapids replays are blacked out on ESPN+. If we don't see them in person they have to be in national TV (lol) for us to see them.

Doesn't help that Altitude doesn't appear to be in basic cable packages anymore either. (at least Xfinity)

DC's fiasco with FuboTV resulted in a good deal...all games on News Channel 8 (no competition from other programming) and streaming on dcunited.com.

Altitude hasn't been on xfinity or Dish in over a year because of contact disputes. Doesn't really affect us since we don't subscribe to a cable/satellite service, but you'd think they could come up with their own streaming service in that amount of time.

CCL starts up tonight with Portland at CD Marathon (Hon) and Atlanta at Alajuelense. I like our chances in the former much more than the latter but likely going to be dirty af.

So here I was all excited to go to Whitecaps games ... I just talked to the RSL ticket office, and it doesn't even look like the Whitecaps will host fans for their matches here.

Dammit.

Good to know as I was considering that as a better option than going back to Portland.

DC is pushing hard on season tickets, but they only have the okay for 2000 fans per match right now. Not sure how they are going to decide who gets to go to games.

Watching Portland take on Marathon down in Honduras.

I think San Pedro Sula is my least favorite pitch in soccer. What a fucking shit show.

Just saw an offsides on a punt in the Atlanta game. Never have seen that before. Good call by the AR but just strange.

And Guzan sent off

Easy red card on Guzan...So Atlanta now has to use a goalie who was signed to a short term contract to just be eligible for the game.

Also love Lalas... "To the thousands of people watching from their sofa". Way to talk up the interest in the game.

Doesn't Guzan have to leave...He is just hanging out behind the goal.

A couple of yellow cards would make all of this nonsense of crowding the ref after a call go away. They were supposed to start enforcing that but top level soccer refs are wimps. NBA refs would just t them up and move on.

Maybe..Those 2 rebounds he gave up may not make up for the saves. But killed time like a pro and played.with his feet well.

So I really like the idea of trying to win the CCL by having COVID restrictions limit the number of players who are allowed to enter the US for the 2nd leg. Worked well last night.

MLS regular season opens this weekend. Looking forward to another middling year for DC. No great big signings, Hamid out to start with a calf thing, they are probably covering depth with some older players and journeyman. Mixed in with some high school kids with promise and a new coach.....long year. But new GM from ATL (2nd lady in the role in MLS).

Chicarito has come out hot.

Concacaf ccl has been interesting. Atlanta gave up against Union last night.
Crew are chasing Monterey. 1-1 but away goals matter. Zardis just came off for BWP.

And BWP scores off a great set piece by Crew.
