There's no way there can be any correct brackets left in America.

There’s literally never ever been one in history, so...yeah

People to be on a #1 seeded team as a player and head coach in NCAA history:

Juwan Howard

Kind of amazing no one else has ever done it really.

Teams like Florida State that press all the time yet play horrible half court defense puzzle the fuck out of me frankly. If Michigan hasn’t missed about 5 bunnies they’re up 20.

Juwan Howard is about to match Leonard Hamilton in career Elite Eights in 1 year vs 30 and he did it by outcoaching him. Florida State was soft from 15 feet in and Michigan attacked them there all day without Isaiah Livers. That was a methodical beatdown. If Howard stays at UM for 20 years he’ll win at least 2 national titles

Just adding... Last weekend, you had a feeling of them wobbling because they weren't used to the rotation without Livers. Today they looked like they had a better handle on that, and Johns was ready to be "the guy" whereas last weekend he wasn't really ready.

They are a nasty team because even when they aren't clicking, they play top 10 level defense and rarely let things get too far out of reach.

It’s just unbelievable how the the Pac-12 has kicked ass in this tournament. Shit on all year by the basketball cognoscenti, and shredding every other conference in the big dance.

2003, 2014 and 2016 are only other times in history since tournament expanded.

Yeah, obviously over-weighted the B1G and crapped on the Pac-12. Given the number of high level recruits out West, you have to wonder where that bias is coming from.... (not really, just being risky with my commentary.)

Also, Memphis got boned. Only two losses in Feb and March were to Houston, by a combined five points.

Then just went and won the NIT. They should have been given a chance over one of the Big 10 teams at least.

BTW, reading up on yesterday...

Pac-12 is shooting up the Kenpom rankings. UCLA is likely up to at least 16 once yesterday is factored in. A play-in #11 seed is pretty far off their actual level of play.

That said, not calling the shot, but it's probably a better match-up for MI. Bama's guards would likely have been trouble for Smith and Brooks, who get a little off their game with high pressure. (Illinois fucked them up on this front.)

Today would've been my Dad's 81st birthday and it's the first one without him. Kind of fitting that his two favorite sports teams are playing for a shot to go to the Final Four today (not to mention the first team I remember watching him root for - Phi Slama Jama). Sic 'em for Papa James.

Probably not? I don't know that anyone seems as complete on both sides of the ball as Gonzaga this year. IF Brandon Johns stays in this form, it almost makes up for not having Livers, but Livers adds a dimension on D that Johns doesn't quite fill.

MI blows out pretty good teams, but they've also lost in pretty spectacular fashion a couple times. I would feel like we'd be 50-50 versus Baylor, but Gonzaga? Not all that sanguine about that match-up.

Michigan's 3-point defense would give them a puncher's chance, but Gonzaga would be favored by about 5 or 6 points in that game (assuming no further injuries on each team) and justifiably so.

Memphis was really impressive winning the NIT. They won their four games by a total of 50 points.

She’s right on her first point, and then after she sets the stage wit accurate rendering of the facts, she falls apart.

Honestly, that should be a fireable offense, cuz there’s a good chance her players’ parents are probably questioning her intelligence, and well, ethics.

I mean, she hasn't had 108 wins taken away and killed a guy with her car either.

When she said "I'm not going to outcoach Geno" most people took it as a compliment to Geno, but after not calling a timeout during a 19-0 run, maybe it was a threat and or promise?

I went to the bar at the resort about a half mile from my place to watch the games because I’ve never been and it has (supposedly, they claim) the largest TV screen in Latin America but it took them until just now to put the game on in HD. Mexico in a nutshell. I’m beginning to really love this place. It’s so stupidly lovable like a dumb Golden Retriever.

That TO by Howard is why he’s such a good coach. You need to burn one in the first half anyway. Use it to read then the Riot Act to lock down Juzang. No one else is doing shit for UCLA tonight. They’re lost on offense.

I get why he probably won’t but I’d love to see Dickinson stay in school one more year. He can be so dominant sometimes and so sloppy others. One more year in school and he could be a top 5 pick in 2022.
