He always comes across as easy going and having no ego. I've seen people post stuff he puts on social media, and he doesn't take himself seriously at all. I recall them doing a lot of personal charity work under the radar. Not donating money, but actually getting involved to help people and shit. Wish I could remember details, and not worth looking it up. I also get the sense that they are trying to raise their kids as normal as possible, and work their schedules to spend time with their kids and be involved.
I was annoyed as hell with his character when I watched Parenthood with my wife - but I've been following him on Twitter for a while, and he really does seem very decent. It could all be an act - but he isn't that great of an actor.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Ya, I think it was Parenthood and the character was sort of like my ex-brother-in-law, which Dax has a passing resemblance to. Like I said irrational.

Plus he married Kristen while I was single so I never got my chance!
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

My wife and daughter are now watching last night's "This Is Us." I gave them a box of kleenex.

You know, I don't get horror movies, and I don't get tragedies.

The latest this is us was pretty excellent storytelling. Totally something my wife watches and I acquiesced but it's solid.

I don;t watch things that scare me, and I try to avoid things that make me sad. From all accounts, "This Is Us" is a well made show. But I would rather watch "Teen Titans Go!"

Yeah, this isn't normally my bag and I have to not pay attention too much most episodes or I'm ugly crying, but the way they're telling the story is just really unique and it's hooked me. I especially enjoyed the most recent twist at the end of the post-Super Bowl episode.

Question I had though and I may have missed an explanation, but why were they all asleep during the Super Bowl if it was his favorite day of the year. I mean, I didn't want to watch that horse face fucker finally win a Super Bowl either, but I still watched.

Because as seen in the "present day" scenes TiU clearly takes place in a universe identical to ours except that the SB is played mid-afternoon East Coast time.

There's a "morale net" while I'm deployed here. When you have downtime you can watch numerous tv shows and movies, listen to music, or watch whatever's on AFN.

Since I do have downtime because in so fucking good at defending your freedom, and because I was able to get a copy of the out of print board game, I've decided to watch Battlestar: Galactica.

Tricia Helfer is seriously one of the sexiest fucking women ever 10+ years ago. She seems to look completely different now, but damn. I can't believe I overlooked her in my 20s.

Haven't watched last night yet, but I've found this season very enjoyable. All the contestants have been great other than that Claudia bitch, who clearly has single mom complex and a lot of growing up to do.

Also I thought Joe S would have been the world's largest douche before he opened his mouth. He's a very thoughtful kind individual. I felt like shit for pre-judging him based on appearance.

That mustache demands judgment. I agree though, I expected to hate him. Not really a fan, but he seems like a good guy. Fatima is cute, but Padma is still bringing the heat. I've been in love with her for 20 years, and she hasn't lost a step.

The wife watches and I usually get suckered in to seeing some of the episodes so I like to see all of your opinions. I also like to tease her that I'm going to drop spoilers (but never do of course).

Not sure if it was posted here, but the newest season is going to be Louisville/Lexington. Gonna be disappointed if I don't see AB tasting some citrus fraische with a balsamic reduction and wasabi aioli next season.
