We kept waiting for a 'twist'...and the twist was that there was no twist!
The amount of plastic surgery Nicole Kidman has had is disturbing. She has no lines on her face! She's 53!

This morning I finished "Zero Zero Zero" (on Amazon Prime) which follows a shipment of drugs from Mexico to Italy. It was worth checking out.
I really liked Zero Zero Zero and all the score/music was done by Mogwai if that’s your thing. (It is mine).
Very solid

i honestly thought he did a hell of a job, really after the initial monologue and aside from the player intros in a way it was no different. No disrespect to Alex whatsoever - rather I think KJ once mentioned he had studied Alex's cadence and I think a lot of that came out yesterday.

And Alex said in his autobiography that he thinks there are a number of people who can do the job as well as he did it.

At the end of the day, it's a game show, and truth be told, Alex Trebek was a pretty bland guy.

I think that's a large part of what made him good, especially for that show. Most TV "personalities" these days are fucking obnoxious.

as opposed to game show hosts from the late 70s and 80s? Not just these days.

Wasn’t that exactly what made trebek great? He could go a month without attention because he knew zero attention was better than negative or divisive attention. Some showman type taking over jeopardy would ruin everything.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Jeopardy will ever have a host like that. Frankly, the format of the show doesn't really allow for it anyway. The show isn't about the host, it's about the game. Trebek understood that and presumably the producers of the show understood that's why Trebek was the perfect host for the show and aren't going to be looking to re-invent the wheel.

This could be construed as an insult, though it absolutely isn't -- but no one watched Jeopardy just to see Alex Trebek.

I need to echo everyone before that to host something like Jeopardy, it requires more a deft hand than an outsized personality. It’s a serious show, and it needed a serious host to push the players.

His last show and all this week’s is sitting in my DVR. I haven’t been able to watch it yet because I know it’ll get really dusty.

Thirded. I can’t tell if I’d be sticking with it if there was no big picture MCU payoff coming but I’m glad I have to.

I love how weird it is and how much effort they’ve put into the sitcom premise(s). And given how important this show is to them as the first MCU streaming show I have very little doubt that they’re gonna nail the payoff.

The bubble gum in the gears animation made me laugh each time.

Anyone hear of that Ted Lasso show on Apple+? Gosh that’s a nice show! (finally got my wife to stay up to watch and we watched the first three episodes in a row)

Finished The Good Lord Bird last night. Excellent start to finish. Ethan Hawke gives one of the best performances in a long, long time. If you get a 7-day free trial of Showtime and just watch this and the Muti-part Doc on the Comedy Store, I think you would find it time well spent. There's also the crazy "This is America" Sacha Baron Cohen mini-series doc as well.

Same. No clue, don't know anything about the marvel multiverse, but I am guessing this is an intro into it? But it's compelling through three episodes.

It alternates between sweet and dumb but it’s worth watching. It’s aggravatingly dumb at times though.

You should keep watching Ted Lasso.

I just binged the first three episodes of WandaVision. The Sun Always Shines on TV to the angst of Take on Me.
