Scott's werewolf makeup is surprisingly good for the budget.

Not trying to explain the werewolf backstory too much was a good decision.

Pam completely blows Scott off at the party and talks to him for no reason in the hall. Bitches be crazy.

I was gonna say something similar. Definitely a Nebraska 9.99 for a HS teacher.

I don't think there's any way Stiles wasn't cribbed liberally from Vic Damone in "Fast Times"

OK, pause point is after this walk that Scott and Boof take. Also, I love this acting from Hampton here after making this shot. A pro's pro.

Bill Simmons would do a jag about how every guy would take Pamela over Boof and the movie is being dishonest. Which might hurt brian's opinion of him.

I didn't realize that. I used to really like Simmons back when he was on Digital Cities Boston. Which I guess a lot of people were, but if he ever did that bit there I don't remember it (or missed the warning signs).

Don't worry, Amin's theory about how this movie is very racist kicks in real soon; I haven't been sandbagging it.

This might be a good time to mention that whatever adidas paid to get the rights to have their logos on these uniforms, they must have made that investment back 1,000 times over.

I was wondering if these Adidas uniforms are the biggest sporting goods advertiser we've seen yet. Considering we've done a few sports movies, I think they might be.

And why is Scot shooting a 1-and-1 two seconds into the game? Or was that an intentional foul?

Okay.

So, Amin's primary theory is this movie is the white man's fetishization of being a black man. Scott transforms into "a black man" and suddenly becomes an amazing basketball player with all the "fancy" play that goes with it - dunks, behind the back passes, all the style over substance.

Not that it's great art, but I love the decision to just stay with silence and let everyone's WTF reactions breathe after he turns into the wolf. I could see a modern movie overproducing that.

And, suddenly, he's super-popular and all these white women are throwing themselves at him. Pam sits next to him in the booth while another girl's hand is suggestively rubbing his chest.

Yeah, I get the critique though Scott/TW's actual play includes some definitely goofy shit that no one would be caught dead pulling at Rucker Park. I need to see some more of this montage though.
