Aikman's boyfriend is going to go off on Bayless.

Hard to believe a pro analyst like Ray Lewis would lose his job.

I just hope he doesn't terminate anybody over this, if you know what I mean.

Fox Sports 1. Former ESPN head who ushered in the "First Take" era now runs that network and has already brought in Cowherd and is shifting toward "debate".
Wow, he's really stocking up on the talent. He should add Schilling.
The Fox Sports Christmas party is going to be pretty awkward when Troy Aikman finds himself standing next to Bayless in the buffet line, what with Bayless having written a book claiming that Aikman was/is gay.
So yup Troy has publicly come out against the Bayless hiring.

"I believe success is achieved by acquiring and developing talented, respected and credible individuals, none of which applies to Skip Bayless.”

So ESPN's leadership would have probably gone after Troy on a comment like this. Maybe just a talking to for a first offense but require an apology.

Home, bored, put on First Take. SAS and Max Kellerman were arguing whether Rex Ryan is mediocre or merely average.

I saw a bunch of commercials for Skip Bayless' new show over the weekend. So he just took the entire format of First Take, down to the hot female moderator, to FS1?

When does it happen? I just saw their commercial for Applebee's where a prize was being a producer for their show.

Well, you'd get to do the show with Golic, presumably. I don't think it's been finalized yet.

Does that show have avid fans? It always felt to me like they got exposure just from being pushed by a company with a big platform rather than audience demand.

I used to watch almost every week, back in the Schaap days.

Happened to watch a little bit yesterday and made sure to point out Albom's mutant ear to the kids.

I used to set my VCR to catch it back in the late 80's (it was on at 730am on the West Coast). Schaap was great in the host role. Mike Lupica was always, and continues to be, an incredible dick. And Mitch Albom's ears...what the hell?

Haven't seen it in years. Not surprised its finally put out to pasture.

Yup. And this statement from an ESPN exec hardly makes the WWL seem bad.

It was pretty easy to guess that was the case (and also easy to guess that Mr. Lee was probably perfectly fine with the switch*). Announcers switch games two or three weeks before they happen for hundreds of reasons, some even dumber than this one. But none of that matters to the right-wing rage/grievance machine.

* (It's not like he got pulled from doing any games or the Florida State-Alabama game or anything. So maybe he'll in Buffalo or Mount Pleasant instead. So what?)

PFT Commenter made the joke on his podcast that he's just going to start calling Mark Jackson "Stonewall," in the hopes that ESPN removes him from its NBA coverage.

Not that there was any doubt, but that article just further confirms that Travis is a pathetic, race-baiting shithead. And also a massive hypocrite when no one injects politics into their sports coverage more shamelessly, or more baselessly, than he does. Also, it so ridiculously laughable that a lawyer turned blogger is trying to hold himself as the authority on "pussies," and how not to be one. But kudos for him for being a real, courageous tough guy and standing up for marginalized groups like Republicans and heterosexual white men.
