Fantasy soccer leagues

Post by Sabo »

I've created a head-to-head fantasy EPL league at the Fantasy Premier League Web site for those interested. I capped the league to 20 teams.

You get £100M to pick 14 players ... 11 starters and three bench players. Transfers are permitted. You can play any formation, but you must start one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and one striker.

To join, click on the following link: http://fantasy.premierleague.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

... and use this code to join: 253484-114976.

FYI, I believe you have to select your team before you can join any league on this site, so keep that in mind.

For those who've played in La Swampa (a roto-style league set up by joeyclams), I've been in touch with Mr. Clams and he said he'll set up a league and then send me the information on joining the league. I'll post that as soon as I get it.

ETA: Here's the code to join La Swampa: 470084-118018

Question. Do we want to do a head-to-head league or total points league?

Fine with either, although head to head could lead to much better trash talking and side bets.

if we don't like the fantasy sites formats i could always run one manually.

I've proposed this before and did one among friends in a previous life.. we could have head-to-head, divisions, promotion/relegation, cup competitions, drafts, expansion, transfer windows.. whatever we want

Easiest would be goals/goals against only but we could work other stats into it as well.

Make a team (not a EPL draft team), where you use up your alloted 100m. Search for leagues, enter codes.

We're at an uneven number in the "official" league.

That's fine. In the head-to-head league, the league will assign an opponent against the unpaired team, and I think it gets a score that's the weekly average. We've had this happen in previous years and it's worked out well.
