McGrath was definitely the choice of Schumer to run against Mitch. Apparently only 2 percent of Lexington's votes are counted in that number above, so I am interested to see if Booker's late surge is tempered by people who may not have known who he was a month ago.

How does a closely contested race impact the race against Mitch? Will McGrath supporters come out for Booker, or is there animosity there? Is this good news that there is suddenly interest in Booker, or is it more that people weren't excited about McGrath? I just REALLY want to see Mitch gone.

I don't think either of them is likely to beat Mitch, to be perfectly honest. As of right now the republican turnout was much greater than Democrat in the state, but that could change when Louisville and Lexington get in and if (the horror!) it turns out that the absentee voters were largely democratic and thus will lead to the fraud cries.

I think a lot depends on how unpopular Trump is on election day. We saw last year that people were willing to vote for a democratic governor but that was basically a Bevin revolt and it didn't affect any downballot races that all went red. There would need to be overwhelming turnout in the cities to oust Mitch, and I think that takes another blunder or two by Trump before November. but I do think that anyone who voted for either McGrath or Booker will go blue.

Booker now up 3k votes with 79% of precincts reporting. And the total vote numbers don't look like they include Louisville and Lexington yet.

The Epoch Times is all over Toronto - even sponsoring public events. Had it put in the mailbox a number of times, and it is available in newspaper boxes near many subway stations.

Put out by Falun Gong - a group that the Chinese government brutally suppresses. Ostensibly a meditation society, it has cultic religious tendencies and some bizarre beliefs.

I got the Epoch Times a few months ago, tried to read it, couldn't get past the sheer insanity of their arguments. The Falun Gong used to set up demonstrations outside my office building, or more accurately in front of MSG. They'd have people in cages with lots of fake blood and simulated torture hanging out flyers to learn about their religion (which seemed like doing tai chi and meditation) and passing out the Epoch Times.

Yeah, he got 80% in Louisville walk in votes and 72% in Lexington. Louisville has nearly 100k absentees to count I think. if that ratio holds in both places then it's probably game over.

Lexington may have just come in. Less than 1k votes with McGrath ahead. About 60k votes just hit the system.




ETA: Couple of other counties came in and pushed lead to 1,700

Washington Posts numbers have McGrath up 23k votes but it doesn't line up with anything else i've seen anywhere else, plus they are saying only 50% of vote is in. Very odd.

Booker won by 36k in louisville. Might not be enough,

ETA: Booker Up 21k votes now with Louisville accounted for. But the rest of the state is going McGrath.
