I’m not reading this because I think it’s super important for Dems, especially in the house, to actively hate a majority of Republicans and if the op-ed itself is watered down I’ll be upset.

I’d like to think the Biden admin set up that softball for Manchin to knock out of the park (that the 25% corporate tax is more than sufficient).
When the news about Matt Gaetz broke, my mom once again called to ask if I was okay. She knew about our friendship and didn’t like it. From the very beginning she’d told me to be careful and not to trust him. When he defended me, she raised her eyebrows and told me I’d better not sleep with him (I did not, for the record).
“Yeah, I’m okay,” I replied. “I just don’t really know what to say. I really hope it’s not true.”
“I’m sure it’s true.”
“Jeez, Mom, why??”
“Because it’s always true. Hopefully this time a man actually takes the fall.”
That's hilarious. I hope they turn it into a toilet anyway.

Is this the sound of Gaetz being thrown under a bus?
If that wasn't, the fact that "Gaetz sought preemptive pardon from Trump on the Fox News RSS feed (Don't ask) seems like it.

This morning I asked myself, "where did Matt Gaetz go to college?"
And I thought to myself. "I'll bet almost anything he went to Florida State."
And hit the Google and sure enough...

When he was in the Florida legislature, only 2 representatives voted against an anti-revenge porn bill. One was Gaetz...
(From the Post)
In 2015, the nonconsensual pornography bill finally passed. Besides Gaetz, the only other no vote in the House came from then-Rep. John Tobia, his former roommate in Tallahassee.
After initially denying reports of an affair, Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill on Wednesday afternoon told AL.com that he had “an inappropriate relationship” with a 44-year-old woman and will not make an anticipated run for the U.S. Senate.
“I will obviously not be a candidate for the United States Senate nor will I be seeking any other elected position in 2022, because I think it’s important to me to make sure that I become the man that I have been before and that I am working to put myself in the position to be the leader that I have been before, as a husband, as a father, as a friend and as an elected official,” Merrill said.

I dunno. It seems that an affair with an actual adult woman is a step up for the GOP.

He told her they had met for the last time and that he was seeking help from the Lord to stay away from her.
These fucking people...
Since he was with her in the first place, it was God's will, so isn't stopping the relationship going against God's plan? He must continue banging her! It's what God wants!

Am I understanding correctly that vaccine passports and ID's for sports games tickets are tyranny but ID's for voting is a necessity?

I don't think IDs for will call tickets are tyranny. I think they're saying requiring IDs for tickets but not for voting is hypocrisy.
I found myself wishing this morning that we *did* have vaccine passports. I got an email that baseball tickets are going on sale today, but they're only selling 3200 seats per game, and only in sets of two or four or six tickets. I would love to be able to just show up at the game, show them my vaccine card, and be allowed to buy myself a ticket even if they've reached their max.
But while Dean boasts a long history of support for single-payer health insurance coverage and government intervention into lowering domestic drug prices, he has reversed his positions on virtually every major progressive health policy issue since moving to work in the world of corporate influence peddling.
Power doesn't always corrupt, but money sure does.

I had this argument with a friend of mine who gets his news via Fox News.
“Right down to mispronouncing names, so that you mistrust input from elsewhere. For a guy who’s made so much money, you’re a god damned fool. Know I will always hold that opinion of you.”
We don’t speak so much anymore.

Hilarious. I mean, he is a political pundit paid millions to talk about politics 5 nights a week. You can't expect him to know the names of Congresswomen and Presidential appointees who have been in or on the news for years. Especially if they are "foreign sounding" names. And Lemon. That is a tough one to pronounce.

Was it Delaware who defined a pundit as "a dipshit with a microphone"? Because I don't remember where I heard it and I want to give proper credit.

On the word pundit, I swear to God it just meant "an expert in a field" my entire time growing up. They've added another meaning since then:
