Edit: Now that I have A working computer and I'm relearning every other darn thing; could you please tell me how to resize an avatar? Last swamp you were kind enough to do it for me but as the saying goes: "give a man a fish, and a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while."

May I also be changed from ShrewToo to Shrew?

Edit II: I will log out for a while.

I'll change it as soon as you log-out.

To resize an avatar, you need a photo editor. Like PhotoShop, for example. Also, if you post your image on PhotoBucket, or any other similar site, you can re-size it there quite easily; PhotoBucket albums let you edit images.

Actually it looks like you can resize your avatar right in your profile here, at the bottom of the page where you upload your file. (though it doesn't maintain ratio). Seemed to work fine for me.

My experience was I could not upload an avatar larger than 200x200. Once uploaded, I could adjust it to display smaller than 200x200.

Scottie - absolutely no rush on this since I'm sure there are many more important things to do, but at some point down the road could you please edit my name to Johnny Hotcakes? No rush at all, so please put this request at the very bottom of your in basket.

I think the Zlax stink is starting to wear off on me.

Random New Old New New Swamp question: Are we going to have the phony football player names from the Key & Peele skit as our profile modifier name thingies? (whatever that's called.)

Just wondering. I'm sure there are much more pressing issues, but I have to ask.

Oooooh . . . I completely forgot about that. And I found a list HERE.

Or should we hang on to those until football season rolls around? I'm open to suggestions from anyone for anything to use as the ranks.

Anyway, what? You don't like defunct WHA franchises? (I just added those for the sake of adding something.)

I know you're kidding but, I don't mind the current ranks at all. In fact, I was wondering what they were. Defunct WHA franchises are cool until whenever.

Ah, dammit. That's brilliant. And I just changed them to the East/West game players. Well, at least we know what the next round of ranks will be. Nice.

Okay . . . after far too much frigging around, YouTube videos are now 640x360.

That work better for y'all? If you don't tell me, I won't know. I'd like to particularly hear from Swampers on mobiles and Macs.

I tried to make it backwards compatible. I believe it is but I can't test it on everything. And it now appears that all of your previously posted vids have been adjusted to that size upon editing the code. So anything you posted that once showed up as 425x344 should now reflect a rewrite into 640x360 dimension.

Kindly, gents, report any oddness, errors, conflicts, failures, crashes, whathaveyou. Buffalo Stance followed by Metheny and more jazz and then Prisencolinensinainciusolin in the Random Videos thread is the first test post of the new embedded dimensions. And I picked those because I wanted to see how various unequal recordings worked on this forum in a 640x360 fixed space.

Thank you.

A couple times in recent days, including this morning's tour of the Swamp, I have had to log in even though every time I do, I check the "log me in automatically" box. A new twist was when I clicked on the "take me to the first unread post" button, I was logged out and taken to the first post of the thread. Don't know what any of this means and it's only a minor, minor inconvenience, at most.

The "log me in automatically" box for me hasn't worked on any Swamp in years. Or any other site, for that matter. Could it be your system settings?

have "keep me logged in" checked on mobile and home laptop, with no problems. Have it unchecked at work and it asks me to log in (as intended). I have noticed though that if I'm logged in and have the swamp minimized for a while, I need to re-login when I go back to it. Some sort of inactive/log out time setting perhaps?

note: not really a problem for me, just thought it might be related to DSG and SL issues above.
