Seconded. And I have no idea the backstory or the point of those characters.

But when I look at Mulaney's IMDB page I see that he's done that character for a while now. So it appears as though I have to catch up.

We've watched six episodes. Not as good as last year I don't feel like but maybe I was expecting too much. Coach is pretty upset with the cameras being around so much it seems.

Also, that Hugh Freeze has been in 2-3 episodes is pretty funny.

I think the fact that Brittany Wagner is so clearly over it... at least as portrayed on the show... makes it all a little bit frustrating to watch. I'm not saying she didn't have moments of exasperation in S1, but she just seemed exhausted by the kids this season.

The coach takes a good deal of shit, but I wish they would get a little more specific. Like, when Ollie is being interviewed and he stares at the camera and says he's going to tell the world the truth and then... Fade to black.

Like, what exactly are we talking about. The kids seem pissed about "being used," but, shit... What are they doing with EMCC? I know there are power and racial dynamics going on, but it sure seems like both sides are getting something out of that relationship.

Anyone else checking out Ozark?

REALLY good show starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney. I hadn't heard anything about this show and it just popped up and now I'm hooked. 5 episodes in, having started on Friday.

Ha, ha. It was 1996 while he was working on Dole's campaign, but yes, they covered it. It was funny watching the contemporaneous interviews of Stone denying it, saying it was a smear campaign and made up, followed by him openly admitting it. BTW, this is the architect of the Trump campaign, marching in a Gay Pride parade with someone who is not his wife.

Watched this weekend. Really fascinating. The people at the top of the GOP food chain really know how to politic like nobody's business.

That was the first time I saw them. That show had some classic moments. "Wheels Ontario" still makes me laugh when I think about it.

The gf and I watched. Decent concept, but there was a flatness to it. Though I did like the gradual degradation of the group's relationship as reflected in the intro.

I just didn't know you could break stuff and get away without paying for or answering to it. And if the show gets more popular I expect the LGBT community to get mad that Fred Savage and Billy Eichner don't kiss and hug like an actual couple. They got mad at the Modern Family guys for that.

Toni Erdmann is a German movie that was favoured to win the foreign film oscar.

'From the brief synopses that I read, I thought that it was a comedy. It's not, although a few scenes are absurdly and uncomfortably funny. I loved it, but it is very long - though not boring - and I also found it really, really sad in a few places.

Any of you watch Fauda? An Israeli series on a Shin Bet group operating on the West Bank that goes off the rails. If you can't handle subtitles don't bother. Very well done. The writers (one is the lead actor) have experience and knowledge of the subject.

My brother-in-law was hyping it.

His taste is usually right up his ass, but I'll give it a look.

Watched a couple of episodes of Travels With My Father -"Reality" show with British comedian taking his stodgy father travelling in Asia. Fine, safe forgettable stuff.

Loved, loved "The Meyerowitz Stories."

Very New York, but so well written, so well acted.

And two actors who I really don't like - Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller - were great. Hell, the whole cast was.

The villain in Kingsmen 2 has robotic dogs that I took as a nod to Snow Crash. That was a pretty cool book. I could see it being a pretty sweet series.

Could also see it turned into a shittier mass-market version of Mr Robot (which itself turned a cool premise/great first season into a shitty show).

Absolutely. I think some folks would see it as a knockoff of Ready Player One as well.

BTW, I haven't seen any of Mr Robot season 3 yet. Is it not good?

Eh, it's still very well done technically and the acting is still decent to very strong, but seems like the plot is completely muddled now. We get the "twist" and all, but you shouldn't have to have a diagram like this in your living room to try and follow what the fuck is going on.

Tried watching Disjointed last night. Literally one of the worst shows I've ever seen. Can't believe Kathy Bates actually signed up for it. I had an open mind even if Chuck Lorre was involved, but it makes the Big Bang Theory look like Cheers by comparison.

Shitty thing is it's actually a pretty clever idea and there's probably laughs to be mined from that setting, but the pilot was just so, so, so bad. Like so bad. Really bad. Just bad. Bad.
