As an aficionado of really bad movies, Dolemite will always have a special place in my heart.

So I am really looking forward to this one:

I was excited to see there's a doc about baseball cards: https://www.netflix.com/title/81151313 but I'm about 20 minutes in and it is awful so far, just a bunch of bullshit about the life of the whiny narrator.

I saw a doc a few months ago a guy who figured out how to beat "The Price Is Right." I love game shows and it seemed like it would be a fascinating story, but the protagonist was incredibly boring.

These types of docs make me appreciate Documentary Now! I keep thinking of the Gary Larson one they did, which is a great parody of the Calvin and Hobbes one. I guess there's a school of thought that bringing in your personal life adds value and meaning to the story, but if the protagonist is a self absorbed annoying bore, it just takes away from the subject of the doc.

Frankenstein's Monster's Monster, Frankenstein is bizarre almost to the point of being surreal.

But I laughed my ass off and at one point my wife had to pause it because I was having trouble breathing. As long as Netflix is willing to finance such bizarre, creative shows - and this was a 35 minute one-off - I will keep subscribing.

A movie.

And in other Netflix movie/series news, apparently Tarantino is working with Netflix to recut a version of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood into a series. Apparently there's a six hour (!) cut of the movie that he's going to serialize on Netflix.

So if you thought it was too long as a 160-minute movie, just you wait!

Killer Ratings is a 7 part documentary series about a Brazilian TV news guy who built a career on exposing criminals and corruption and then became a successful politician before being accused of some crazy, crazy things.

I've watched 4 episodes and am torn between searching to see how it all played out and watching to the end (episodes are 50 minutes each). Really well done if a bit drawn out.

Undone on Amazon Prime is amazing. Please check it out soon as its too good to be on TV and I need more seasons and the stupid algorithms the streaming services use value how soon people watch a new show above all else.

I assume you mean Multiplicity, which does sound awfully similar. I like Keaton and I actually enjoyed that movie (and the wife loved it.) But, yes, Paul Rudd is an upgrade.

Watched an episode of David Chang's new show (in Cambodia). And while I liked Kate McKinnon, I found that his attempts to do a Bourdain-like melding of food, history and culture fell really flat.

Meh.

Just watched in the tall grass. Based on a Stephen king/joe hill collaboration. Pretty decent horro/suspense movie if you need to kill a couple of hours.

I watched Echo in the Canyon earlier today on Netflix.

Decent look back at mid-60s music where east coast folk headed west to play jangly pop.

Finished Living With Yourself. It was really good. Easily and quickly slipped from dark Black Mirror moments to quirky goofball laughs. At times it really made you think, then would just be hilarious. Very cool around episode 5 where they switch POV to the wife.

I've got 2 left and I've really enjoyed it.

Also I just found out I have to wait until Feb to find out how they're going to wrap up BoJack.

And I tried watch Iliza Schlessinger's new special. Got 7 minutes in and couldn't take it anymore. Just over the top dramatic pauses, and fucking voices. I've come to realize I can't stand comedians who are nothing but stupid voices. I feel like her comedy is aimed towards women, and I hear a ton of female laughter, but fuck, she just isn't funny.
