Whoever green lighted those Heineken/Neil Patrick Harris/"Flip your friend's meat" commercials. That guy should be fired.

Recently had a disagreement with my wife after I mentioned that I found Neil Patrick Harris to be supremely annoying.

The Southwest commercials. They need to stop.

And that one commercial with Ariana Grande being swiped for "Maps" because of the data problem. She's on a damn straight road in the middle of nowhere. There's only one direction she could go. Why do you need maps?

I mean, One Direction would have been a better choice than Ariana Grande for the pun. But it probably would have triggered women who would be like "Oh, so women are bad drivers!?!?"

So in the Mountain Dew commercial the fish eats the frog, the cat eats the fish...why not have the owner eat the cat? And when the wife walks in he just shrugs. That commercial would go over well with PETA, right?

Not sure which program's commercials are more insufferable. Undisputed or First Take.

Max Kellerman quoting nearly 20 year old Puff Daddy lyrics while Stephen A. doubled over in laughter is completely ridiculous.

I love how Chevy assures us "these are not actors". Like that matters. These people see the cameras. They know they are being filmed by Chevy. And, how they are expected to react if they want to be the ones who get to be in the commercial.

Yeah...those are some pretty damn elaborate sets for filming a 60 second car commercial. Especially where they bring the cake/pie display rack full of cars and trucks out of the floor.

The Navy Federal Credit Union features a female pilot with no patches/rank and two F-16s -- Air Force planes.

Not saying AF members can't have an account there, but to the average civilian the commercials leads one to believe she's probably a Navy pilot and she flies one of those planes.

Here's another. The Geico commercial has a 5 star general in an Air Force uniform. That rank exists but only could be bestowed in time of war, particularity if a United States Air Force officer is given command over allied troops in which one or more five star equivalent ranks of a foreign military is under operational U.S. control.

Only 9 people have ever held the rank. The last person to hold it was Omar Bradley.

So you're saying a guy who decides to talk Geico with 45 seconds to live most likely ISN'T a 5-star general?

OK, I'm biased here, and I could have put this in the hockey thread, but more people will see it here.

About this ad, Fox sports sez:
Brent Burns and Joe Thornton have the hairiest and most enviable bromance in hockey. Whether they're playing together on the ice or walking around America's greatest cities shirtless, they're pretty much always a pretty lovable duo. Their latest endeavor is a hilarious new commercial that showcases their enthusiasm for epic facial hair. The ad was put together by the Sharks, who will be hosting a Thornton beard chia pet giveaway later this month. Typically, team-produced ads are pretty forgettable, but the performances and commitment given by Burns and Thornton make this one way funnier than it has any business being. The rapid one-liners are great, but the real standout here is Thornton screaming "OIL IT UP, BABY!" followed by very aggressive towel waving. That should get Oscar consideration, if you ask me.

Θ Am I supposed to feel anything other than dread and great sorrow when I watch the new Verizon ad with the guy who can't look up from his phone? Am I supposed to be impressed by, like, data plans or something? Because this commercial just makes me hate what we've become.

Θ BMW ad with the guy washing his SUV with Perrier, because regular water from his garden hose isn't good enough: That's a funny conceit, and I would have laughed if this were a commercial for Honda or Volkswagen. But there's already too much of a sense of otherness about BMW. This is off-putting.

Θ You still smell like nutmeg, Swamp.
