This clue allowed me to find her with a 2 minute Google search. Stop when you find a woman who looks very similar to Giff's wife.

Aw man, I remember that. The one thing I will tell you is that the actual wedding day is probably going to be less stressful than any of the bullshit before it. Just try to have fun tomorrow. Remember that the day is all about you and Meg, but mostly her. Have fun and do what you need to do to make sure she has a great day. You'll be fine.

Don't forget to eat. The reception will have food (at least I assume), but you will be so busy talking and mingling that eating slips the mind.

Make sure you eat a proper lunch and dinner. The reception often gets rushed because you are going to be making the rounds of every table. (Assuming you guys are doing seated dinner.) You are probably going to be taking pictures up until the minute you go into the dinner (so the appetizers are not an option).

Like brian said, it'll go by in a blink of an eye... Just enjoy the ride... It's really not something that can truly go "wrong" unless you guys do a choreographed entrance to a Black Eyed Peas song. Because fuck that.

The eating advice is solid. Also, don't do shots with your buddies too early in the day either.

And if the whole thing starts to get really stressful, remember that the next day, the two of you will be alone on a vacation.

Which show?

I ripped through Plebs a few weeks ago. It's basically The Inbetweeners set in ancient Rome.

Now I'm catching up on my panel shows. New World Order with Frankie Boyle is the current leader.

W1A Comedy about the BBC. In classic English-style, 6 episodes per season.

Seasons 1 & 2 were fantastic.

Season 3 was not so good. The things that made it so entertaining became very annoying. Watch the first two seasons though.

I'm having a hard time getting excited for the NFL this year. I shouldn't since the team I've actively rooted for since 1974 is likely going to be real good. I haven't felt this detached since, well, 2001 (and to a lesser extent 2004). I have no idea how to root for a favorite. There's more joy when my 0-8 team goes to division leader and beats them then when my 8-0 team stomps someone. It's like the great Al Pacino quote from "Two for the Money" when he addressed a GA group:"See, most gamblers, when they go to gamble, they go to win. When we go to gamble, we go to lose".

Yes, Pruitt and Brian, I know you just said "FUCK YOU" and scared the pets.

Fuck you.

Having said that, I am very confused by your post. I remember when the Bills started becoming a powerhouse in the late 80s and had that decade plus run of being good, then great and then very good. I never got tired of seeing them win.

Some of the greatest games I saw were 31-3 at the half.

And how you root for a favorite is the way the favorites root against your team when it's at or near the bottom - without sympathy or mercy for the opponent.

I remember taunting Pats fans back in the 90s. Christ I'm old.

In a weird way, I’m as subdued for this NFL season than I can remember over the last 30+ years. I don’t know if it’s becaise I finally climbed Everest as a fan or I’m totally turned off by all the stomach-churning realities of the game. I got my share of fantasy teams, gambling in the games is legal now in NJ, but on the whole if Wentz doesn’t come back until November and their record is in the toilet, I don’t think I’ll bat an eye.

Beauty Pageants

I've discovered that my wife is a HUGE beauty pageant fan. Also, a huge red carpet fan. She just loves looking at dresses and fashion. She'll watch the Red Carpet at the Oscars and Emmys and then turn it off when the show starts.

How has she learned English over the past year? Watching the last 10 years of Miss USA and Miss Universe. And I have to watch with her (which isn't entirely bad).

They maybe losing their luster in America but beauty pageants are huge in Asia. My wife tracked the 5 different Miss Vietnam pageants that they have this year. Philippines is insane over Miss Universe and if Miss Philippines doesn't win on Sunday night, they may tear the place down (it's in Thailand).

This was a bad take.
I also had a lot of skepticism over the Bears' trade for Khalil Mack, calling it a win-now move when they were coming off a shitty season and so many unknowns/question marks. Their defensive backs have proven to be better (more consistently good, I guess) than I expected and their offense has been quite good with zero Pro Bowl caliber players. I seriously doubt they will make the Super Bowl, as that appears to involve road wins in LA and New Orleans, but there is definitely a wide open window of opportunity for the next couple years, especially if Trubisky continues to develop under Nagy and Vic Fangio stays in town.

I love this quote from Miss USA on Instagram: “I am grateful for opportunities to speak with Nat, Miss Cambodia, and H’Hen, Miss Vietnam, directly about this experience."

I'm sure that was an enthralling conversation...

I watched the clip, and it actually wasn't as bad as the headline made it seem. USA seems like a complete ditsy moron, but she just said Vietnam is so cute, and she nods so you think she understands English. Then she said it must be so hard for Cambodia, because she can't speak with any other contestants.
