Ronaldo's son (The Original Brazilian Ronaldo) represented Brazil at the Maccabiah games.

Wow, could immediately pick his kid out of the team picture. Just found out my cousin made the US soccer team for the Maccabiah games. He played in the PanAm Maccabiah a couple years ago. And I just learned Jeff Agoos is Jewish. Mixed feelings about that.

3x member of the Baltimore Maccabiah Soccer team right here. Played in Detroit (host family had upper level front row at Old Tiger Stadium), Wayne NJ, and hosted in Baltimore (with soccer at UMBC). A little more regional than the games talked about here. Made it out of pool play in Wayne and Baltimore (of course our "ethical" coach rigged the draw and then managed to rig the knockout round in our favor). Ultimately lost to England in PKs.....which had at least 3 kids who were wearing necklaces with crosses on them.

Were you playing an English city, or were teams from US cities playing against national teams?

Looking into it, because I thought my cousin played in Peru, he played in the Pan Am Maccabiah in Chile in 2015. He is playing for the US team in Jerusalem, at the big Jewish Olympics (third biggest sporting event in the world, apparently!).

ETA: And it looks like the Games ended last month, team USA won the soccer finals! This is crazy. They beat GBR 3-0 in the final, after losing 1-0 to the Brits in the group stage.

US Cities, some Canadian cities and then National teams. The Detroit and Baltimore ones were big events. The Wayne, NJ was more regional. I think they did a big national event every other year.

The small portions of both food and drink at kiosks at each country make for a really enjoyable stroll, unless you happen upon some soccer players.

I wonder if they have lax enforcement, and every accountant cheats the system, so they are targeting high profile people to make a point.

Lift a trophy and shut down the team.
San Fran Deltas (played in Kezar Stadium) win the title on Sunday (over the Cosmos) and announce they are shutting down. This is tied to the NASL's recent failure to beat US Soccer in court over failing to get d2 status. I actually expected these teams to move to the USL and not exit totally. But I am also sure we will see the Cosmos brand die again.

4-0 Dortmund in the 25th minute in the river derby Schalke. Pulisic with the start for Dortmund, and Weston McKinnie starting for Schalke. McKinnie got a yellow in the third minute on a stupid late foul.

Great entertainment if you’re a Dortmund fan.

This game is nuts. 4-3 in the 86th minute, and Dortmund is down to 10 after Aubameyang got two yellows. Dortmund’s defense is horrific. Pulisic has played well, but McKinnie has been invisible.
