I was cursed from birth to root for the Lions, but I picked Derby, so I guess there's something to be said for the perils of either method.

He makes Gazza look stable.
So he is back on the bench. Gimnasia La Plata takes him on as coach. First acts..brought a priest to the training ground to dispel bad energy and ban the color green (lots of player had to get new cleates). Tried to ban jersey numbers 13 and 17 but the FA only allows number changes in the offseason.

Chris Richards (US U-23) could see his first real action with Munich's 1st team. Boateng picked up a red and Sule has a season long knee injury. Plus he could be playing for Wegner soon.

If you've ever wanted Jim Nantz to call a soccer game, you might be in luck.

World Cup Qualifying in Asia.

Iran are in trouble for making that final 12. Losses to both Iraq and Bahrain.

South Korea is kind of blah. Two scoreless road draws.

And Vietnam are leading Group G!

I went to Georgetown's first playoff game this year. They were scary good. Just dominated Pitt. Extremely talented and disciplined.

Great strike by Steedman. Worth turning this game on.

With the exception of the last kick, all of the PKs were very well taken. 13 of 14 is a pretty high percentage (with only 1 kid willing to top-middle).

Yeah, that was a master class. I'm usually decent with predicting where guys are going (taking into account where they play on the field, style of play, skill level... and then how they are setting up their run up.) But a lot of those guys were super sneaky with their hips and run ups.

That last guy, though... yeesh.

I have tried to teach my kids to aim for the back corners (and prefer low). Figure they miss a little each way it is still on the net. Most of the PKs were there. Except the kid who hit he post and it went in...1 inch the other way and he misses.

Yeah, it was kind of a sloppy game, but those PKs were pretty incredible. You could kind of tell that the guys were feeding on each others' success in a positive way.
