Hoping the lines die down enough we can head over there over Christmas break. As much as I've been looking forward to them opening, I'm not waiting in line for 12 hours for anything.

There are plans to open one about a mile from our house in the next year, really excited by that.

The CFA in town is on a super busy stretch of road, where the eastbound and westbound lanes are separated by islands of commercial property with multiple u-turns. The place has been open since 2013 and drive-thru traffic still backs up out of the parking lot and on to the road on a daily basis. It fucking sucks driving past there at those times.

They share a parking lot with a 7/11 and a takeout felafel joint. The owner of the felafel restaurant just a week or two ago successfully filed an injunction getting the drive-thru closed while a plans can be made to alleviate the parking and access issues the traffic causes.

22 is the worst road in America and probably the world.

Similarly, we got a new Chick-fil-A in the next town over (the only one for many miles), and the drive thru line regularly spills into the street, at a big intersection. So patrons coming from three different directions jockey for position and get pissed at each other. I now avoid that area like it’s got the plague.

That reminds me that on Broadway in Tucson there's a CFA near an In N Out. But they are positioned at opposite ends of a big parking lot so the traffic from one doesn't run into the other.

I think the only traffic causing drive thru place in the area is Dutch Bros coffee. But I think it's in their business model to open on the smallest piece of real estate possible of a main intersection and have the city figure out the rest.

Be careful, they opened a second CFA on 22 closer to me. It's in parking lot that used to be a very large free standing Sears with a huge parking lot. That lot is often filled with a snaking line of cars. I've heard people waiting 3 hours in that line, and I'm not surprised. I've never eaten at CFA, but there is no way it's worth waiting 3 hours in line.

There is a Popeyes right around the corner from the second CFA.

All the good delicious sandwich shops on the east coast and dummies are waiting forever for a chicken sandwich.

People were heated up here a few years ago when a Cheesecake Factory opened up and it took over an hour to get seated.

It's new and you've heard about it, but the only way it will close in the first three months is for a reason that would make you happy to have not eaten there.

Speaking of great east coast (Boston) sandwich shops, you need to hit up Cutty's whenever you're back there. One of those places that does every single aspect of the sandwich perfectly. Just spectacular.

Johnnie, I kinda get the love for Sonic. Ocean Waters and Cherry Limeades are fantastic.

Sonic's perfectly fine, but yes there's no reason to ever wait for it.

Just had In-N-Out for lunch for the last time in a long time. It was delightful.

I love how it's just as good each time. I thought we would tire of it having it here, but we still have it about once a month.

Not sure if it still is, but it used to be the least expensive franchise to open. I never understood how they stay in business. Their meats are all horrible. We stopped at one on a road trip maybe 5 years ago because there were no other options. Kids got pizza, and it was the absolute worst looking pizza I've ever seen.

Well, sex machine, that one's on you. Ordering pizza at Subway is like ordering shrimp scampi at a strip club.
