If welcome back kotter hasn't been mentioned it should... See Brian now. Cheese is good.

Watched simon and simon a lot but never again thought of the theme. In retrospect, sure actual good music. But that's not hr standard for a theme. Has to intro the show like ab says. Instrumentals don't really get it done to me. Kinda why Beverly hillbillies is in the convo.

Alan thicke wrote the different strokes theme? Into the internet abyss I go.

I gotta say, she deserves her own thread. 19 Emmy nominations. Six wins. An oscar. 8 decades of work. Giant.

Longtime Temple basketball coach John Chaney. On the short list of best coaches never to reach the Final Four.

My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.

He was funny as hell though. I sat at his table long ago (Tug McGraw was the main emcee, and he died in 2004), for a charity event. He refused to take off his hat and sunglasses indoors. When we asked him why, he said he was going incognegro. That was the main thing I remember, but he had the attention of the table the entire night. Their 1988 loss to Duke in the Elite 8 is one of my earliest memories of the (heartbreak of the) NCAA Tourney. RIP, JC.

Late to this but I loved Chaney. Having not grown up in the Philadelphia area and not being a huge college basketball fan, he’s the reason the Big 5 felt like a major deal when I first started caring.

One of my coworkers' wife volunteered for the local chapter. First she said the work and generosity to make wishes come true is truly amazing. She also said it is heart breaking to meet all of these kids. However, what was most sad is that they have to really evaluate these asks to make sure it is the kids wish and not the parents (Which happens more than you think).

My niece who had leukemia when she was a kid (thank God, she's now an 18 year old university freshman) was treated like a princess by those wonderful people.

Bless them all.

Or maybe being a founding member of the most successful groups of all time should get you your own thread?

Yeah. Hacksaw was Jim Duggan to me, who is still alive at 67. The Natural is how I vaguely remember Reed.

I'm speculating that since the family didn't announce a cause of death for Pedro, it was suicide or an overdose of something. If it was a heart attack or stroke, I would expect that to be announced.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.
