"In Spite of Ourselves", "Sweet Revenge", "Clay Pigeons", "That's the Way the World Goes Round", and "Paradise" are on here, and they're all great, especially "In Spite of Ourselves".
Man, John Prine has tons of great songs, including some you've mentioned there. Also, some other favorites of mine are Illegal Smile, Pretty Good, Dear Abby, Grandpa was a Carpenter, Hello in there, Donald & Lydia...
Can't believe 'Angel From Montgomery' hasn't been mentioned yet...

Angel from Montgomery may be the best song that John Prine ever wrote, but I think Bonnie Raitt owns that song. Her cover of it is so great.

Her live version with John is even better IMHO.

I'll never understand how I can hate (or maybe more accurately strongly dislike) almost every Dave Matthews Band song, but every 15th or 20th song I really, really, really, really, really like.

ETA: Since I liked Samurai Cop so much I'm giving the new album a listen on Spotify and I'm just going through song by song like "garbage, garbage, garbage, garbage, garbage, etc." I did like "She" and "Come Tomorrow" OK I guess but not much else. Samurai Cop might be one of my three or four favorite songs of 2018 though.

Didn't see it, but I'm always disappointed in Maron's standup stuff. Though I haven't seen the new one and should give it a shot I guess.

I listen primarily to a mix of 80s goth and new wave, and classic rock, but I'm also rather fond of some of the modern (primarily Scandinavian) metal bands. In particular, the Greek/Swedish "melodic" death metal band Nightrage:

That was the Third Man Records twitter account. Someone must've gotten a wrist-slapping.
I went and fired up Dopesmoker because of this news (420!) to see what it's about. I'm seven minutes in, there have been no words, and it's almost like it's a soundtack for an alien movie but yet I am still compelled to keep listening.

Comment on the youtube page:

"This is my ringtone. The whole thing."

Just got control of the aux on vacation. Every one gets a song before passing it on. Dopesmoker it is.

Saw them in Denver last week. They ripped through most of the new album, with the encore being "Dragonaut" (off Holy Mountain) and like a 10 minute excerpt of Dopesmoker. Very satisfying.

The vocals are a bit harsh (heh) for my liking. I don't listen to much melodeath but when I do it's usually Insomnium, Amon Amarth, old Arch Enemy, etc.

Both the new albums by Kataklysm and Amorphis are exceptional though.

Honestly, for metal, I prefer that vocal style. Behemoth, Gorgoroth, Belphegor, As I Lay Dying, etc. Then again, I also like Nightwish, which is the farthest opposite end of the spectrum.

Somebody is going to have me convince me that these kids aren't actually Led Zeppelin I. Or, a reincarnation. Or, at worst, a rip-off (which would be ironic, given Led Zep's penchant for ripping off old bluesmen). But, these guys do have the pipes and the chops. Greta Van Fleet.

Whiskey in the Jar is a great song. But you meant to put it in the old music thread.

And Brian, my opinion is that all of ZZ Top’s best songs are on Tres Hombres or Fandango.

The greatest theme song that ever there was, from the only MMA promotion worth its salt (I consider DREAM and RIZIN to be more or less a direct continuation). I could literally listen to this on a continuous loop:

I'm sure it goes without saying, but just to be clear -- Whiskey in the Jar by Thin Lizzy is a great song. Metallica's version is a travesty by a rubbish band. :)
