I like to imagine while recording, at about 45 minutes the guy missed a chord and said "Shit...once more, from the top. 2,3,4.."

I drove my daughter to a volleyball tournament today without my wife in attendance. The Venue is about 70 minutes from my house. I almost fired up YouTube on the aux and played dopesmoker. She’s 14 and loves AC/DC and queen and lots of classic rock. But I just couldn’t do it. Someday.

Been spinning this band called Watter pretty heavily, which is kind of a post-rock supergroup of sorts. And, apropos of discussion in the album draft thread, just learned Tony Levin plays on the signature track.

Legend Of The Liquid Sword is a pretty damn underrated record in retrospect.

GZA had the misfortune of having to follow one of the greatest albums of all-time (not greatest rap albums of all-time, one of the greatest ALBUMS of all-time).

Seriously, go back and listen to "Stay In Line". Just fucking bangs and you got the bonus of Santigold guesting.

I don't know how to say this in a measured way so I'll just come out and say it this way, but I'm pretty sure the new Childish Gambino video This Is America might be one of the greatest music videos of all-time.

The song itself is very good. Not incredible or anything, but damn. Watching the video feels like getting hit by a truck, but yet you have to go back and watch it again and again.

The new Janelle Monae album is great. Very Prince-y.

Really bummed that her show here sold out in about an hour (during which I was in a meeting at work). May have to delve into the secondary market.

A lot of people saying a lot of nice things about Scott on Reddit.

Something about this is really getting to me. It's got to partly be because the outcome is unknown, but a main portion of it has to be just how evocative his lyrics are on PoaPA, and how many of them seem to deal with depression.

The longer this takes, the more I look at where South Queensferry is geographically, and the more I see people quote some of his lyrics, the more I worry he's not going to be found.

So ... maybe this is completely wrong and call me out if it is. I don't hold it against people who take their own lives; I have no idea what its like to go through any sort of depression or mental illness or trauma so awful it can't be overcome and I get the decision to just end things. The thing I "judge" in those circumstances is the method; either doing it where a family member would be the one to find you (David Foster Wallace) or doing it in a way that doesn't allow for closure for everyone else (hopefully not here). I guess the gray would be if he just needed to disappear, which ... I don't know. Maybe this should have been one of those delete posts.

No, I tend to agree with you. Who are we to condemn, as we never know what someone in that position is going through? That being said, it's horribly destructive on those who love and care for said person. I just wonder if someone else could have helped in some other fashion. Did that person get the treatment that could have saved him or her, not just from the final act, but from the ongoing torture that led them to believe that death was better than the alternative?

Caveat - I've never had anyone I was close to commit suicide.

Thank you. If there’s one thing about the current iteration of the Swamp, I think common and borderline worthless are fair game to describe it.

OH...You might’ve meant previous.

OK....

Sorry to bring this back to sadness, but I'm a bit obsessed at the moment.

Scott was last seen near the Forth road bridge. Floating in the Forth is the penultimate song on The Midnight Organ Fight, which the band had been on tour playing in full on it's 10th anniversary.

"Floating In The Forth"

So you just stepped out
of the front of my house
and I'll never see you again.
I closed my eyes for a second
and when they opened
you weren't there.
And the door shut shut
I was vacuum packed,
shrink-wrapped out of air
And the spine collapsed
and the eyes rolled back
to stare at my starving brain,

And fully clothed, I float away
(I'll float away)
Down the Forth, into the sea
I think I'll save suicide for another day.

And I picture this corpse
on the M8 hearse
and I half run away to sleep
On a rolled up coat
against the window
with the strobe of the sun
and the life I've led
am I ready to leap
is there peace beneath
the roar of the Forth road bridge?
On the Northern side
there's a Fife of mine
and a boat in the port for me,

And fully clothed, I float away
(I'll float away)
Down the Forth, into the sea
I'll steer myself
through drunken waves
these manic gulls
scream it's okay
take your life
give it a shake
gather up
all your loose change
I think I'll save suicide for another year.
Until everything is less insane, I'm mixing weed with wine.
